Anyone Heading For Quartzsite This Winter?

I'm going to be heading back to QZ again this November, and was wondering if any JOF members have the same plan. If all goes as planned, I will be in the desert in about three weeks.

I'm quittin' my job and headin' south. Common sense has prevailed.

We are heading in that direction after Christmas. Not sure if QZ will be a resting place or not. Plans are to head West and winter somewhere in Az.. Then migrate up into Utah as the weather warms..

Bill we are headed for Parker where our trailer is in storage. We are leaving Idaho around the 25th of Sept and will stay in Az for about 6 months.

Ah Quartzsite, the garden spot of Arizona and home of some of the crookedest politicians on the planet. Went there once spent a month there one day and that was enough for me.

I didn't see any gardens... but from reading the local news, yeah, politics there are... complicated.

Clayton, that looks like a Mojave Green Rattler, the most poisonious of the North American pit vipers. It's venom affects the blood (as all other pit vipers' venom does) plus it affects the nervous system, causing paralysis. Nasty critters, but I bet they taste good when deep fried.

Clutch, sorry I missed visiting you last year. I got involved in metal detecting for gold nuggets. Didn't find any, but tried. Gonna give it another shot, plus I'm thinking about buying a drywasher to see if I can get gold that way.

And I made a mistake. Not three weeks, but a month and three weeks. I'll give 2 weeks notice tomorrow at my job. Need to give my rv park notice, and get myself back onto Obamacare, which will probably take several weeks.

Desert, here I come! If I get there early enough, maybe I'll be able to dine on some crispy fried rattler! Unless they are a protected species in AZ. If so, I'll just take a picture.

I'm going this year, but only during the Annual Sports, Vacation and RV Show. I am not even boon docking, I'll be staying at Park Place. I am hoping to be in my Seneca by then.

Just remember, when you pass go don't forget to collect your $200.

Well, I told the boss I'm quittin' today. Official last day is Sept 26. I'll need a month or so to tie up loose ends up here in WA, then I'll be on my way to QZ.

FREEDOM!

We go to Yuma and stay in Fortuna de Oro. Close enough to Quartzite for day trips and more comfy than boondocking

Yeah, but then he will be heading thru Mediterranean and Baltic, either of which will make bedding down with that snake look pretty good by comparison.

I can't resist. We live about a hundred miles from there . . . what does one DO in Quartzsite?

You could always go to the nudist colony in the desert and enjoy the sunshine.

And unfortunately, I've had a change of plans. I'm staying up here in the Pacific Northwest this winter, since my son and his wife will be giving me a grand-baby in January.

I will keep occupied by searching for gold in the Liberty area, on the East side of the Cascades while I wait to become a Grandpa. I joined a prospecting club last weekend, which has several club claims I can go to to pan for gold. That was one of the things I was going to do in Quartzsite, anyway. (to answer the question of "What do you do in Quartzsite?")

I'll be cold and wet up here, but closer to family, so it's all good.
