Are blinds covered by warranty?

My JayFlight is almost a year old (2011 29BHS) and the string to the slideout window blinds broke. How do I know what is covered by the factory 2-year warranty? If this is covered, do I call my dealership for the replacement part?

Blinds string broke. Replace with factory or upgrade blinds?

The string to my blinds on the slide out just broke today. Is this a good time for a blinds upgrade? Is it worth getting custom blinds or just order a new set of factory ones?

(Benjamin247... I merged your two threads into one)

post #2 You probably don't need to replace unless you want to upgrade. There are several members here who have fixed the string on their blinds. While waiting for someone to post in this thread, if you have some extra time try doing a search here at JOF.

post #1 Additionally, yes the blinds are covered under warranty. If you have multiple warranty issues that has you driving to the dealer anyway, it may be worth your while to let the dealer fix it. With gas prices crazy high, if this is the only warranty issue, contact the dealer and they can send you the part/parts you may need to do the fix yourself. Hope this helps...

Your warranty is good for two years from the original date of service to the original purchaser. Bumper to tongue.

Strings have recently broken in two of our blinds. Hoping to hear from those who have repaired theirs!

I repaired mine BUT I didn't need to run a new string. My string broke at the end, I was able to fix it and just moved the round string holder up a quarter inch. I would be interested if anyone were able to source the string, I would love to buy some extra.

As a note, it is not hard to repair and would be very easy if you had replacement string.

Our large window blind string broke and it was covered under a warranty repair.

I've had a couple of blind strings break and they were replaced (or repaired) under warranty. Also, the small mini-blind over the kitchen sink wasn't staying up like it should, and it was replaced too.
