Are you happy with what you've got?

Often we buy our RV, then find we're not satisfied because we need to:
1) Purchase different configuration (larger, smaller, change layout)
2) Upgrade/downgrade the TV or rig
3) Make major (not cosmetic) modifications

How happy are you with what you NOW have OR what is required to 'get it right'? Feel free to add comments on what you've done or plan to do, and 'lessons learned':

We are pleased with our TT, no changes there (wanted the outdoor kitchen, a bed accessible from both sides, bunks for guests or storage, small enough to get into most California campgrounds). We upgraded our TV, and so glad we did. Nothing further planned, and looking forward to cresting the Rockies.

For us the smaller size is a perfect fit. We had several size-related criteria to ensure we could store at the house. As it's just the two of us the simple layout also works well. We've made a couple of small modifications at this point - added gas struts to hold the bed up when accessing storage and a vent fan for the fridge. One upcoming mod is to add a couple of LED reading lights at the head of the bed. The TV doesn't really work too hard either and we've found that we can tow long distances with ease making it a good combo for getting from point A to point B quickly. So all in all we are very pleased with the set up and look forward to many years of traveling and camping with it.

Yes, very happy. But I STILL look at the 5ers!

I believe I will be happy with my current unit. Hard to say since I haven't used it yet. Of course I thought I would be happy with my last one, so who can really say.

Very happy with both of my RVs:
1) The Mercedes car soft top is perfect for a weekend outing and a stay at a hotel.
2) The Boxer puppy is great for my fitness program and is well mannered and civil.

Time to go back to work on my house before the rains come.

I am happy with the two upgrades I made this summer (new TT & TV) but still I can't help thinking that someday I'll be touring the country in a Class A Diesel or maybe driving an F-350 with a huge 5er tagging along behind.

This is our 3rd MH and we've figured out that no one rig has it all. Every one of our MHs has something we like that others don't have. We would have to design and configure a custom MH to get exactly what we want as every one is a compromise in one way or another. However, we've arrived at the best we can do with the resources available to us. Have only made a few minor mods to this one so far.

It's by far the best ride we've had. The other two rigs rode like bread trucks but this one is a nice compromise.

We prefer opposing couch/dinette configuration but those layouts always have a small galley. Therefore a bigger galley on this one but couch/dinette are on the same side. Oh well, really happy with it so far and now we've got enough miles on it to have worked out the kinks.

We really do love our configuration, but to he honest I wished we had gone with a slide out. It gets a little cramped in between the kitchen and dinette.

Other than that we love ours.

Our 24 FBS is just right for now. We bought our ram so we could pick a different TT. I can see us moving to a 26BHS in a couple of years.

We are happy with ours. If I could, the only thing I would change would be to duct A/C into the bunks. We have to hook up fans to blow cool air from the main area into the bunks in the summer - it gets extremely hot in there even with the rest of the trailer very cool...

I rented a few trailers and bought a Class C before my current trailer. I always wanted my 32BHDS since I saw a similar model at an RV show years ago. Works perfect for us. Only thing better would be if there was my model with a full wall slide instead of the dual slides. Not complaining, just wishing.

Overall we are very pleased with our unit. It has a great floorplan, as the the dinette is across from the couch, making a great conversation area. I just don't understand having the dinette and couch next to each other, seems like living at a bus stop. We don't intend on upgrading until my daughter decides we are to old to hang out with anymore. Then it might be fiver time.
Things I wish for in my current setup:
1. I wish the factory had put it together better.
2. Not enough carrying capacity, we are maxed out on weight and have to load very carefully.
3. Not enough space to hang clothes.

We loved our 1007 for that stage in out lives; it provided many years of great memories, and was the perfect layout for family camping. However, we borrowed a friend's camper a couple of times before we bought and that really helped us define what we wanted in floorplan and features.

The new (to us) HTT I think will be a great fit for DW and I now that the kids don't come along as much; both are college age and starting lives of their own. But there are still bunks for them if they join us. It is very compact but full featured (more features than we really want) and well within the towing capacity of our TV. It is, I am sure, the right rig for us at this stage in our camping lives. Of course our camping lives started with bed rolls under a lightweight tent, so it is a long evolution.

But retirement beckons in another 10ish years. By then the TV will probably have evolved to a half or 3/4 ton PU and a smaller 5th will be in the works. Planning for many months of happy travels.

voted for upgrade rig

we are happy with our present 257rbs eagle but just last weekend tried to upgrade to a jayco eagle 27.5 rlts triple slide 5th wheel. the trade in value was horrible on our 2013 so could not even consider trading up. other wise would have been a done deal. we just may wind up retiring in our 257 rbs. I have always wanted recliners in our rig but with a bumper pull trailer the overall length is too big too fit in a lot of campgrounds. we are just over 29 feet right now so can fit in most places. that triple slide with the big windows and recliners would have been really nice! would not have had to upgraded my tow vehicle either.

Our HTT is fine for now, but in a couple of years when we retire I think a regular bed might be better than the fold down bunk. And a slide would be nice.

We love our current TT, but will hopefully upgrade to Northpoimt 377rlbh, next summer. "I" was planning on upgrading this year, but the wife had other plans and wanted wood floors in the house...guess who got what they wanted?? After the floors are paid for in about 8 months...hopefully we will be back to my plan!!!

Our Hybrid with the super slide and the 7' kitchen work area works great for us. Tunce needed the floor space and a den( the rear bunk) so everything is fine with us(her).

Our TT is small but has all the things on both of our must-have lists. Having owned pop-ups in the past and then not having any type of camper for a couple of years we are grateful for our little camper. Even when we trip over each other (especially when one of our kids graciously joins us) we figure that is the point -- to spend quality time with each other in the midst of our busy lives!

We bought the F-150 with the 3.31 rear drive. Didn't know enough about tow vehicles to know we wanted the 3.73. Wish there was some way to modify the rear drive.
