We camped once at a campground during NASCAR season and everyone around us had their outside TVs on the same channel. It sounded like we were at the race in person -- in surround sound!

Neither of our TVs have even been turned on this year and we've been in the rig off and on for a couple of months. That being said, if I didn't have the internet to get the news, weather, and email, then I might be a mite upset. Different strokes.

Yep different strokes... As long as other campers aren't disturbed let them enjoy themselves as they see fit... Live and let live...

As long as they are not disturbing anyone I thinks it's fine. My kids are older now, but when they were young we loved movie nights outside. It was pre-camping days but I would setup a screen outside and project movies. Lots of neighborhood kids loved it as well.

Normally I would agree with OP - we don't camp to watch TV. But I think our TV set may get used on our August trip. We just realized that our 17 day outing is pretty much lined up with the summer Olympics, and we are all fans. DS is a pretty good mid-distance runner at the junior level and there is a female runner from his club competing in the 800m for team Canada, so I know he'll be watching that event! I just hope we actually get signal up there; we've only raised the antenna once on our TT!

Think of it as today's version of going to the drive-in.
