Yes, but the cargo door is always open since the fridge is there anyway.

Well we are at the CG this week-end (man is it packed!), and I installed the awning lights. I wasn't sure how the wife would like them, but she really thinks they look good!! She says she prefers a steady "ON" versus the fading and changing of colors.

Yep,
I think most people will prefer them steady on after playing with them lol
I like the blue myself and bright white if reading.

Best regards,
Doug

Got lucky with my install and the power cord end is directly above my top fridge vent. Found a small white 24" connector at Menards that I was able to connect between the end of the LED ribbon and power supply. You can barely see it, and I have the whole cord and power supply plugged into the same 110v circuit as my fridge is plugged into. No cutting was needed, and everything is completely protected from the elements.

Just ordered these last night. Should be here Thursday. Hopefully Friday I can do a test too see how I like them.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00..._ya_os_product

They are 2 dollars cheaper this morning than they were last night.

Do you plan on using the power adaptor? If so, you do realize that isn't a US plug don't you?

Howdy,

Just a quick question. When your at full hook up site you just plug these in any old standard plug on the trailer and boom,,, light. But what about when you're dry docking? Your standard plugs don't work. How about the round DC plug? That's still live right? Do these light sets come with a DC round plug ? like a lighter plug ?

I'm just trying to figure out how to amaze the squirls with a cool light show dry camping...

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

No, they don't come with a cigarette lighter cord (ooops, not PC, power port plug). Though you could easily rig one up for it bypassing the power converter. Me, I just run my off the 12-volt behind the fridge and don't mess with the power converter at all.

I plan on using the power adapter for a short time. Look at the third picture down on the left side. A 12vdc 5a psu with a US 110v cord.

Got mine installed over the holiday weekend at the campground. Had a lot of lookers at the setup. The blue was not working but tracked it to a broken solder connection on the plug which was quickley fixed. Has anyone else noticed some condensation inside of the clear plastic cover? When I unrolled it to fix the connection I saw about a 6" section that was a little fogged up after a rain storm on Monday night and repaired on Tuesday.

Received the LEDs today. They look great and work nice. I can't wait to install them on the trailer. I am still not sure if I am going to mount them on the awning tube or the side of the trailer just below the awning.

I've had it both ways. Did it on the tube last year and did it to the side of the camper 2 weeks (I damaged the original set when I installed and half of them quit working and the splicers don't work with the waterproof all that well). I'm really liking them on the side of the camper. Can use them without the awning out and don't have worry about plugging/unplugging them - especially if like me you have kids that kid excited to start rolling the awning up and such.

They are so cheap that I had planned on 2 sets, 1 on the awning and another on the trailer but they only had 1 set. I installed this set on the awning and will see how it goes.

Bummer.

Got my lights today and they don't work. Tried everything to get these things to turn on. Not sure why they are not working.

Mounted mine to tube last weekend. Still need to do permanent wiring for it But it was raining all weekend so working on the wiering in the rain was not real appealing.
Some picks,

Looks good, did you pick up any condensation inside the lighting tube?

We used our second set for the second time this weekend. We had heavy rains both Friday night and Saturday night. Friday they weren't on at first as we were just arriving. Then we turned them on and then left them on all day Saturday, Saturday night and into Sunday when we packed up. Didn't see any signs of condensation and no LEDs not working or anything. Really happy so far. That was with the awning both out and in since I mounted this set to the side of the camper.

Make sure the arrows are matching up on the plug, they will not work if they don't match up

I added a little silicone to the ends as they are not completely sealed on the ends.
