Awning Lighting

Control boxes aren't waterproof. But, it's nothing a little silicone can't fix I took my little box apart and filled the inside space with silicone and then siliconed around the 12V power connection. Why would I do this? I mounted the control box out on the awning arm inside the motor housing. The plugs for the light strip and IR hang out the side since I cut a notch for them. I ran the 12V power I needed for the control box from the control panel inside the camper. Took some fancy fishing, but I managed to do it!

Re: Awning Lighting

Looking at a new 2014 Greyhawk 31DS. The window sticker says "Awning electric with LED lights". Is that simply the outdoor lights, or could they have added some light strips to the awning, similar to what is being discussed here? No brochures or info on web by Jayco published yet. Any thoughts?

Yes it it the awning light strip mounted under the awning rail against the trailer. Some one bought a 2014 X23B and said they have the awning light strip and Jayco did away with the outside porch light.

Can I ask where you got the plug you used in the fixture to power your lights? I'd like to do something similar and that plug looks like it would make it easy. Thank you!

Most people get them off Ebay. They come with the $5 LED square panels.
Maybe search LED replacement panels for 921 bulbs.

Best regards,
Doug

They mentioned that recently while we were on the factory tour. I couldn't help but laugh quietly to myself.

I've got them on my 2014 x23b. I've posted pics you can see below.

I loved them. Lit up the area outside a lot nicer than the single porch light.

My 2014 184bh did not come with led, but after reading this I bought a set from eBay. I installed the strip on the awning and should have ordered the dc hard wire to male plug connector recommended by the seller. It would have been easier to hardware to dc. I have a pic to attach but wil have to later, appears I cannot from iPhone.

We have a new White Hawk on order. I think LED along the awning is included. It should be even sweeter if factory installed and running off 12v. Anyone know for sure?
