I placed the clear packaging tape over mine when I installed them. I suggested it in a much earlier post here. My buddy has had his taped to the awning tube for over 2 years! Mine are on the side of the TT, below the gutter. That way I can use them with the awning rolled in. A couple lights on one end have a steady purple color, no matter what the color is set at. But for $30, if I have to buy another set next year, I will.

Getting closer to camping time again, so I thought I would bring this thread back to life for all the new members.

I am considering putting on the led lights. With a power awning it seems easier than hanging some up and having to take down every time one rolls up the awning.

I have that very one on the awning roller tube.. it is rated indoor outdoor... I bought a second one that went on the inside of the slide out room and nicely lights my living-room. Got a 3rd one that is going to be mounted under the awning tube when rolled up ... and am thinking about 2 more for under the RV from the A frame back to the wheels. Since I rarely am in a campground I bypassed the the provided power supply bought some M5 plugs at radio shack and wired the lights directly to my 12 volt system.

We bought a second set to replace our with this year. First set failed after getting wet, assuming from wicking water that is in the awning. I am going to tape this set inplace with 3M packing tape along the entire length and seal the end with a little silicone where I cut it to length. Lights were great last year and set us apart from other RVs. We prefer to leave them on a slow fade from color to color. I hope this set will last all season, but if not I will replace them again. I am leaving them installed on the canopy roller, I dont think I could tape them in place as well on the side of the RV.

Ours did last all season, even at times when it got soaked with rain.

It will be interesting to see if it works again this year.....

Man Spring can't come soon enough as we are getting freezing rain and it's supposed to last all night! Last time this happened back in '09, many lost power for days!!!
