Awning Shade / Sunblocker for Front of RV

I'm looking for feed back on front awning sunshades or blockers - the kind that have a small diameter cord that slides into the groove on the awning roller. I currently have a Carefree Sunblocker in Sierra Brown color. While it is effective in blocking a lot of the harsh sunlight, it is quite heavy, makes the area behind the screen fairly dark and blocks the breeze. I'm looking to replace this item with one that is lighter in weight and color without giving up too much in effectiveness.

My questions are:
1) How will effectiveness in blocking sunlight and heat be affected with a lighter weight screen?
2) Some brands have different colors of screen material. Do the various colors have a significant impact on sun and heat blocking capabilities?

There seem to be a number of brands available - with Carefree and TentProInc the most prevalent. Any thoughts on quality, warranty, etc.?

I have Vista Shade from Shade Pro in a light grey color. Been very pleased with it. Super light and easy to attach.

Will the Vista roll up with the factory awning? I know some do and some won't. Never have figured out why some do and some don't

Yes, but it's not recommended when traveling, but the piece it attaches to can stay on.

That would work. this would make it convent rolling it up with the awning during the afternoon winds we get at one of our lake spots.

I only paid $113 for the size that fits my small awning on the dining room slide.

When you install the top part into the groove on the tube, take the cover off the end of the awning opposite of the motor side. It will make it a lot easier to thread it into the groove.
