Awning stitching is deteriorating

Hello. Has anyone ever had this issue where the stitching, where the awning attaches to the trailer, is deteriorating to the point where the awning fabric is pulling away from the trailer? Suggestions to fix? This is on my 2017 195RB

Our LED strip on the back awning is starting to waiver (not straight) . The awning attachment seems to be OK, but I'm still not sure what the cause is. No big deal at the moment since nothing is detaching yet.

We had stitching start to deteriorate on our original fabric and replaced it with one from Tough Top Awnings. Much better single ply material, custom made for each order. My DW and I changed it out at home and are very pleased with it, although it would've been easier with a third person during the process.

My trailer is the same age. We had it replaced at the FMCA rally last March by Shade Pro. When the installer started to remove the old one it just basically fell apart. He said if not protected from the sun they seldom go past 6 or 7 years. He also suggested getting some plastic rain gutter from Home Depot or Lowe's and use it to cover the rolled up awing while in storage. I am doing that and it does work pretty good. I also bought their LED kit that works very well. It's not sewn into the awning, but has a self adhesive track the lights slide into.

You might be able to take it off and have an awning shop re-stitch it. I just replaced my awning fabric and slide out awnings, all from Toughtop, same link as the previous post.

The material on most oe awnings are bottom of the line but mine lasted many years.

Mine is starting to do that as well. It is the OE awning and maybe I can get another year or so out of it as I hate to replace it with one that will only last a few years. ~CA
