Aww, Crap!!!

Getting ready to leave on first trip of summer and stupidly leaned wdh bars against front of the White Hawk. I raised the tongue jack to lift the front of the trailer and when lowering it, forgot the bars were leaning on the front.

Dang!

Punched a hole in the diamond plate front.

AARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

So sorry that happened, Murff. On the brighter side, that looks like the perfect place to install that new light you've been wanting to put on the front of your TT! The hole for the wiring is already there.

You’re not alone in making that mistake as I did the same thing a few years ago. Someone on this forum recommended some sort of epoxy (can’t recall exact one) but it worked perfectly to patch the hole. Good luck!

That sucks! I see bars standing up against TTs all the time at camp.

Gorilla tape for now, and a new accessory later??

That really sucks, I hope I never do that one (now wait for my post having done the same thing ), as a general rule and not for any specific reason just the way I do it, I normally put the bars on the ground near the trailer frame bracket where they will attach to the trailer in the correct orientation. I do this because in my mind that is the easiest place to attach them from.

Once you have it fixed please show us a picture and what you did for when the inevitable happens (now that I posted how I would never do that :P )

I did it early on to my TT. Luckily the coupler wasn’t lined up perfectly with the ball. When it jumped on, the bars slid, and fell. I had some funky scratches, but no perforations.

Seal the hole, glue some fancy cap over it labeled “ Booster Fuel” and watch people stare and scratch their head.

I did the same thing last year. Huge woopsie on my behalf. Installed a spot light there, connects to the battery since all the wire run by it. Made a nice, albeit unnecessary feature, to the trailer. Gotta break something every year otherwise whats the point of having it

Stuff happens. I sideswiped the rear corner of a car last week making a tight u-turn. I was about 2" shy of completing the turn and caught the rear tail light. Scuff marks and slight dent in the aluminum on the side of my trailer but fortunately no structural damage. It was a last minute maneuver not well thought out.

JB Weld applied will be stronger than the diamond sheeting. My pop-up electrical outlet fell through the counter into the cabinet below. The ring popped off. I used JB Weld on it and fixed it. Told the dealer don't bother replacing it under warranty. Already fixed.
