Back falling off

We got quite a surprise when we pulled into our current campground. The right rear corner of the Bird has separated. We are currently in St Andrew's, NB and have changed our plans to make it to the dealership ASAP. We have pushed it back as far as we can and are using Gorilla Tape to hold it. Of course being Labor Day weekend doesn't help us in contacting the dealer or Jayco.

Note that we are 1300 miles from home.

Odd... I don't see any evidence of screws holding the back together. Thankfully its under warranty, but that's very frustrating. Please keep this thread updated. Good luck, I'm sure Jayco will take care of you.

Is it the rear cap or just the corner piece?

Looks like water intrusion based on what I can see in the pic. The luan looks like it pulled apart and the dark area at the bottom looks like mold/mildew.

Things are going well, so good that it's scary. Monday I emailed Jayco with pictures. Tuesday AM talked to the selling dealer and got them to agree to look at it when we passed their location on our way home (150 miles from home). Later Tuesday Jayco emailed that they were in communication with the dealer and the dealer was expecting us. We stopped about noon and the dealer asked me to unshackle, that they had a cancellation and we were moved into that slot.

I'm not sure what I did but I'm not questioning it.

I got a call from the dealer, Fretz RV, in Pennsylvania. It is a case of the screws holding the back on were too small. The dealer replaced them and recaulked the back. In the process they also replaced the screws on the other side. I'll be picking the Bird up on Monday and have more information.

A big Shout Out to Fretz for their quick resolution and dedication.

Glad it wasn't anything more than just screws. Hard to believe they would stoop to using screws that were too short.
