Bad service experience at dealer-need to vent

So yesterday I had an appointment at dealer for warranty work on my 2017 Precept. The hydraulic pump was leaking fluid when using the levelers. This is a new pump that was replaced last September as the original pump also leaked. It actually started leaking a couple of weeks after the original was replaced but because I was putting the coach in storage we (the service manager and I) agreed to bring it in this spring. So as I said I took it in yesterday and they checked it out and determined that the O ring on the reservoir cap was bad. They said they put a new O ring on and tested it several times and no more leak. Great. My service adviser tells me I am all set and I go to counter to get the paperwork and he hands me a bill for $189.00 for fluid and an hours labor to put it in! ($150 / hr for labor). Are you kidding me? I tell him that I am not going to pay because its a warranty item and this is the second time I have brought it in for this issue. It is still under the Jayco 2 year warranty until the end of May. Hew says that the fluid and labor to put it in is not covered because its a customer maintenance issue. ????? I still refuse to pay and he talks to an assistant manager and they both say I,m responsible for the bill. As my blood pressure is rising and still refusing to pay, they talk with a warranty manager. He says they will TRY to submit it to Jayco and let me know but I may have to talk to Jayco myself. I asked them to explain to me how I am responsible for fluid that leaked out of the pump but really got no satisfactory answer. I took my keys and left without paying . He did say he would be in touch with me after contacting Jayco. I am astounded by this whole experience and left there a little more than ticked off. Sorry for the long rant but as I stated just wanted to vent a little. Any thoughts on this from anyone? Thanks

I'm with ya. Especially since they "fixed it" once already. That alone should warrant a free repair.

I wouldn't wait for them to call Jayco I would make a call. Avoid any spin the dealer could put on it to put it in their favor.

YES, call Jayco yourself.
I have had "warranty" work done at a CW locally and they told me Jayco said...……, I said REALLY, I spoke with (Jayco Customer or tech name here) on DATE and they told me.....
So, someone is lying. CW resolved the issue no charge.

Like Reagan said...… "TRUST but VERIFY"

Hope this all works out in your favor. Some dealers and service depts will try to suck every last dime they can out of a customer.

I just talked to Jayco customer service. Great conversation and he told me I am in no way responsible for the charge. He took down a lot of info and will wait for Albany RV to contact them and break the news! Thanks for suggesting the call!

Good deal!
Now don't be surprised if the dealer doesn't call Jayco but tells you they did and Jayco told them..........

Not sure how it works there , but here any work done needs to be approved by the customer (and be made aware of the price). If they don't, then you don't have to pay.

Sounds like a dishonest dealer trying to double dip on the bill, bill the customer and bill Jayco. Win Win for the dealer, and they wonder why this industry has such a bad name

I'm glad you got it resolved but now you have a dealer you can't trust...but that might be said about most dealers.

Yes they are part of RV One. Not at all happy with them and not just because of my latest issue with them. I won't go into all the details but the service is terrible.

I understand.

Mine was 2 weeks old and residential refrigerator stopped working. Had to wait 3 weeks before I could take it to them.

Then it sat there for 1 month and they did NOTHING to it.

I called them and told them I was coming to get it.

They SUK!!
