bathroom urine smell
Each time we camp I clean our bathroom and the walls thoroughly. I just can't get rid of the urine smell. We use the pods that you drop in the toilet. I clean around the toilet with clorox wipes just to make sure I didn't miss anything. I feel like it just always smells like urine, YUCK! Anybody have any suggestions? What am I doing wrong?

We were having the same issue and I finally discovered that the foam seal between the toilet and flange was installed crooked and there was a crack that allowed toilet water out an under the base of the toilet. It was installed this was from the factory and with the water pump turned off and open the toilet valve and using a flashlight, you could actually see part of the foam seal hanging out into the opening.

Other then taking a better aim and don't know why you would have a urine smell.

We had the same problem near the end of last year, and it got worse during our first outing this year. Turned out to be a known issue with our Dometic Model 300 toilet. Replaced it with a new one, slightly better model. No big deal, took 15 minutes tops.
So check and see what you have and do a Google search on that make and model. Results could help you out.
Good luck!

Tell the men to sit down like the women do, the aim will be more correct.
Anytime you open the valve (even quickly) there will be some air coming from the waste tank. Plastic toilets hold odor and need more thorough cleaning than porcelain.

We have a Redford toilet. If we notice a urine odor we give it a good scrub with Pine Sol and feed it an extra tablet.

I agree with RKresge, check your toilet model. The dometic 300 is notorious for leaking between the top & bottom half of the toilet and allowing urine to sit there and fester.
I had 2 of the Dometic 300 toilets in my unit and replaced both with Thetford porcelain models.
If you do have the Dometic 300, call Dometic and they will work with you to replace them. They may give you newer 300's for free, or upgrade you to the 310 model for a small fee. I just chose to bite the bullet and ditch the Dometics entirely.

I have not had that issue in my rv but had issues with my grout at home with three boys/men in the house who REFUSE to sit despite being over 6 feet tall( overspray even if they get the bowl). I used pet urine odor neutralizer around the toilet. I'd check for staining though before I sprayed it on the walls...

Urine smell
Hydrogen Peroxide 50/50 with water in a spray bottle is said to remove bathroom odor. Probably good to test for staining..

You should point out that they need to wet some TP and wipe it up unless they want to fix their own meals. Totally thoughtless of them.
