Battery

I installed new battery in my pop up . The unit is also plugged in. Came out this morning no power to lights inside. I thought I fixed it but installing the new battery when old battery connections were finger tight and battery was bulging. Don’t know what to do next .

You need a volt meter to do most any electrical trouble shooting. Connections, fuses, wiring are likely suspects if the battery is charged and connected correctly.

Follow the positive wires from the battery to the inside the camper. There might be resettable circuit breakers underneath on the frame. They have very tiny button resets.

There should be a kill switch inside to prevent the lights from turning on while closed up. Often times it's on your kitchen counter which needs to be flipped up for power to come on.

Also that switch may be on a bunk end. It has to be fully out to activate it.

Battery

I recharged the battery and when I went by the converter I heard a noise like something was running. I unplugged the refrigerator. Still heard noise. I shut off one of the breakers and the noise stopped. Also battery dead again even though the camper is plugged in

What was battery voltage after you charged it?

A fully charged battery right off the charger should be at 13.3-4 volts. After resting for a while, it should be at 12.6 volts. 12 volts is half used, or bad battery.

Is your refrigerator set to 12v? That's a huge draw

With unit plugged in shouldn’t the battery be charging through the converter

The converter takes 120 volts AC and puts out 13.4 volts DC. That is the battery charger and power supply for your lights and everything else that runs on DC. It has a fan that runs when it is loaded to keep it cool. You said you turned off a breaker and it stopped. With the shore power on, all breakers on, all fuses good, and the battery disconnect switch closed, the lights should work inside the camper. If not, then there is a problem with wiring, or a circuit breaker is tripped in the DC, or the converter is not working.

The only alarm the manual talks about is overload and the output voltage drops below 12.5 volts. Normal output is 13.2 to 13.5 volts. So, I’m guessing that the converter has zero volts of output. Check the voltage from the white (negative) to the red(battery charge connection), and also the yellow, brown, and blue (lights and equipment). Also check the fuses. You must remove the front plate to get to them. Labeled OUT1,2,3,4. Best wishes.

Just thinking out loud.

Your Converter has a reverse polarity protection fuse

If by chance the battery was hooked up wrong , check that fuse on the Converter

With this fuse blown, the battery will not charge
