I have also read of (failed open) Disconnects that would not connect, so all wires put on same terminal to bypass the bad part?

Pull the panel off at the disconnect switch. Not everything is wired through the switch. Some of the stuff comes off the line side of the switch I’m betting. It does in mine. So therefore it will always have power unless you disconnect the battery.

Yeah that sucks as I'm really curious as to what's going on here. Hopefully he'll let us know at some point.

He may have gotten tired of people asking if he is plugged into shore power.

I did that one day preparing to work on hydraulic slide, so disconnected chassis battery and still had voltage... standing there perplexed, stated problem to the wife and she says "are you still plugged in?"... and I decided I needed to do that job another day.... :-) :-)

Those are the moments that make you realize the DW just may be smarter than you

dis1955, make sure about the battery disconnect switch. It should be wired to the heavy gauge cable, which runs from the plus stud of the battery to a connector box or the converter direct. With no shore power hooked up and the disconnect switch in the off position your 12 volt circuit should be dead. In case not, you definitely must have somewhere another 12 Volt supplier, maybe a second battery bank hidden or maybe solar panels. This mysteriously 12 volt has to come from a source. It will be fun to chase this, good luck! Best regards, Benno

Pull the positive lead off the battery and see if that kills the 12v. If it does then you either have something bypassing the switch or the switch is bad.

Where did the OP go??? It would be informative to know what they found out, and where the 12v was coming from...

The OP hasn’t told us anything but a lot of electrical novices don’t connect a disconnect switch between the battery post and the RV and then wonder why some things still work or the battery drains dead.
