My best add-on Trik-L-Start

My 2017 Greyhawk 29ME hadn’t been started in a couple months. Usually that’s not a problem because , most of the time I keep a battery tender plugged into a pigtail I have coming from under the hood. On this occasion I didn’t bother to plug in the battery tender but I always plug in the shore power. Dead battery, I’d left the nav on., had to put a charger on it..

To avoid forgetting to plug in the battery tender next time, I installed a Trik-L-Start across my emergency start solenoid. Now, when I’m plugged into shore power, my chassis battery is also being maintained and yes, the chassis battery voltage and coach battery voltage are the same.....good $59.95 investment for me......

FYI, when plugged into shore power and not using a battery tender, my coach battery was approximately 13.2 V and my chassis battery was 12.56. When I connected the Trik-L-Start, my chassis battery moved up to the same as the coach battery approximately 13.2 V.

Like I stated earlier from my own experience, “It wouldn’t be the first time Jayco gave out the wrong info” !! At least now, you know what you need to do. In the end, that’s all that matters anyway. Happy Trails !!

Sorry but that is not true on my 2016 Redhawk
House battery charges but not chassis.
That switch is to connect the chassis to the house in case the chassis battery has drained and allows you to start up the coach engine.
I believe there is a relay that allows the engine alternator to charge the house battery once the engine is started.

When you say “Sorry but that is not true on my Redhawk”, which reply are you referencing?

By adding the Trik-L-Start, it makes it true.

You’re right, it doesn’t unless you add a device like I was referencing earlier, the Trik-L-Start....
