So no ability to insure means for me that if it goes missing, I'm out $12k.
I'd rather drop $1k on some security measures that make it a royal PITA to bother with (vandalism or theft).
So what happens if it's sitting at a campground, you go out for the day and someone backs in and steals it? Insured?

How about if it catches on fire in the storage lot?
Or it gets smashed by hail in the storage lot?

In my state, when under tow the trailer is covered by the liability insurance on the tow vehicle.
I would look into a comprehensive policy that may be crafted for when you are traveling and not stored if that is how they will sell it.

1) I'd look at different insurers...
2) Look for a different storage place. This one for instance, is only $143...

Holy crap that's awesome! I am definitely getting one of these. Problem though - will the Trailer Valet XL get in the way of a Weight Distribution Hitch?

Bought the Trailer Valet XL today. Got free shipping. Too bad I missed the 20% off from Xmas 2015.

Thank you so much for that suggestion Sergeum!

Have you had a chance to try it out? I just received mine... packaged really well. I'm off to pick up my trailer on Monday and will be using it for the first time.

Moat.

I'd look for a storage facility that will let you dig a moat around your trailer. Don't forget the alligators for your moat.... oooh and sharks too - sharks are good things to have in a moat. Don't forget that you'll need a drawbridge to get your rig in and out of storage. If that's not good enough, maybe some landmines leading to and from the moat (just make sure you remember where they are for your own safety).

By the time you get through all your security, I hope you'll have time to go camping and get some much needed relaxation done!

Wow... What an awesome product.
Imagine how easy it would be to get into a tight camping site, or if your camping with friends and want your TT to be pulled in forward to face the other site.

If you make it too tough to break-in they will just steal the whole trailer...

I am lucky here that the county allows us to park our units here at home.

When someone walks up to my trailer the back yard big light comes on and the dog barks...

I don't leave things like the batteries in plain view. My propane tanks on my off-road popup has a long shank lock on the twist handle...

Most things stolen around here are Batteries and Propane tanks - Both has something to with meth labs I guess...

Don't be silly Swardy, everyone knows a shark would eat an alligator.

Unfortunately no. Still waiting on our TT to be delivered. Hopefully THIS coming week now. Our Trailer Valet XL is still in its package unopened.

Let me know how yours works out.

They certainly will if you don't invest the time to train them properly. I suggest McFlurry milkshakes from Mcdonalds - sharks will do anything for those things!

Get the thing out of the Bay area. Find a seasonal site or off site storage in a community close to where you think you would be using the TT. Getting out of the high $$ Bay area would make it all more affordable and at the same time maybe get you to a safer location.

If you are parked with many other RV's you unit [you said $12k I think] isn't going to stand out as a target with most of the other campers in the $30 - $100k area. Better not to be the fanciest Rv on the lot.

The alarm was an excaliber but the tracking part which connected to it was separate and that company supplies the service
