bettery re-connect electrical issue

I re-installed and connected the battery in my 2016. Went into the trailer and turned on the lights. Nothing. Turned them off and on again. Flickered. Off and on again, they came on no problem and are now just fine.

Is this something related to the charging unit? I thought all the 12v bypassed it.

Thanks

D

There are a few assumptions I'm going to make here. First, I assume that your battery was fully charged when you put it in. The second assumption is that you had no signs of mice in your trailer that could have chewed on some wires. The third one is that you were not plugged into shore power at the time of this battery reinstall test. I'll also offer one conclusion and that is perhaps you have a faulty light switch.

Things can go to crap when they sit even if they're fairly new. I also have a 2016. We'll see what mine does when I reinstall the battery later this month.

Doesn't sound like it......, assuming the same conditions that member 'stateboy' mentioned.

I would also check that the 30 amp fuse located near the battery isn't compromised, and along with the battery cable connections (as mentioned) check that the battery disconnect connections are good (if you have one).

Batteries fully charged (just came off charger)
No mice signs this year
Saw similar behaviors on 2 light switches

I'll check the battery disconnect (it's aftermarket) and I noticed some corrosion on the battery connections too. I'm going to clean them up and put some dielectric on them.

Thanks for the tips.

Sometimes a switch which hasn't been used for a while and doesn't have much load across it will not work correctly for a few times. The contacts in the switch oxidize a bit and it takes a few tries to work through and make contact again.
