I sometimes add a cup of liquid fabric softener after dumping and let it slosh around during travels. Fabric Softener and water softener is a water wetter.

A test you can do on your TP, is take one square, put it in a mason jar with a cup of water. shake it for 15 or so seconds and let it sit. Look at it 30 minutes later. If it is dissolved it is good to use in your RV.

We've used septic safe paper and not the super soft stuff. Rarely have any problems. We always add water to the tank after dumping. Also, everyone knows not to be shy when flushing when using paper.

Have always used lots of water and never ha a problem. I have had the discussion with our kids to not use handfulls of TP.

I have heard that some Rid-X in the tank with plenty of water when not in use can help break stuff down and be flushed on the next trip.....
Never used it myself, though.

I use a cup of laundry detergent just before going on the road. I think it helps unstick the gunk from the tank. Had the TP pyramid (2014) after using the camper for 2 months straight during my bathroom remodel. I used lots of water, tank rinsers and dumped with a mascerator pump but it still built up. Once I got it out on the road the problem slowly went away.

I have had the "poop pyramid" one time in the past. I threw a bag or two of ice down the commode and drove for little bit letting it slosh around nicely. Flushed the black tank and no more worries

I use Kirkland at home, and bought some of this for the trailer: https://amzn.com/B00BL0WSI0

For a test I put each in a jar of water, swished it around good, and let it sit. 24 hours later the Scott paper was just gray muck, the Kirkland paper was still a square, even with one last swish. Agree with you that I would not use it in my RV.

I always rinse the black tank using the pvc wand with a high pressure nozzle. Aiming it in all directions seems to knock it loose, just be careful if using the wand, you will get a face full if not (have done it more than once....yuk!). Once it's all rinsed out, I add enough to coat the bottom then add the blue stuff.

We have used nothing but Scott's RV paper, and it always broke down very well without any issues. So, we ordered a big case from Amazon. We would recommend it.

There are some really good demos on YouTube (search RV Toilet Paper Test) of how to test. "The Fit RV"'s is a favorite. What these tend to demonstrate is that some RV papers fail to break down much in water, and some regular commercial papers disintegrate to pulp in no time. We went back to our usual home brand because it disintegrates to nothing in a matter of minutes in water, is softer, and about a quarter the price of RV paper.

We do our dishes in a Rubbermaid tub that fits inside the sink. When finished we dump the hot soapy water down the toilet. Seems to help.

We use regular home paper. As others said, don't skimp on water.

Blank tank flush works wonders if you have one or can get one installed and have a dump station with a threaded hose.

When possible, travel with 10 gallons +/- of water in the black tank and dump as soon as you get to the camp ground. The starts, stops, turns and bumps will turn everything into a nasty shake.

We occasionally follow the "Geo Method" which uses laundry soap and Calgon in the tank. Usually set it up before we travel. Keeps oders down and I'm assuming keeps the tank clean, although I've never really inspected the results.

+1
$35.99 a case (12-4 packs). I use the black tank flush after every time I dump the tank, then immediately put 4 full toilet bowls of water + my chemical down there.

Throw some Calgon water softener down the black tank. Makes the slide slick; which makes the gunk want to release.

I use Calgon and Happy Camper, personally.

We throw a 20lb bag of ice down the toilet before we leave to go home. Lots of swishing breaks up the mound and then it melts.

Kirkland TP and the best chemical I've found is RV Digest it...breaks down TP in only a few days...awesome stuff. If you use more than a typical dose it can unclog a tank overnight.

Take a small section of toilet paper and put it in a jar of water with a lid and shake it. If it disolves it is safe to use. Some RV toilet paper did not break down in this test. So don't assume they are safe.

These thread always crack me up. We never had a problem with our Gulf Stream sensors but the Jayco has been wacky for every trip so far. We have been using a product we got from Camper World to improve our black tank situation. The pooh pyramid is gone I think. No longer visible anyway.

That's what we used to do when owned boats. Worked great!
