Blackstone Tailgater Mod

I added another feature to my Blackstone Tailgater today.

There have been too many windy days waiting for food.

I made an aluminum tray underneath.

I had left over material, so I made a center and rear windbreak.
The center windbreak can move to the side if needed.Click image for larger version

Nice job! That should keep it lit and the temperature up.

Thanks.

My quest to making this thing more camping friendly started shortly after purchase. My brother-in-law added fold out table/shelf workspace to both sides last year.

My friend bought some cheap grill scrapers from the dollar store. Flat piece of rigid stock with a circle roll at the top. He bought about 10 of them and uses the spare ones, wrapped over the side of the Blackstone, blocking the wind.

Yeah, I had a smaller metal block for the sides before.

I rarely use both griddle and grill at the same time, so there is almost always an open burner and the space above and below. The larger block on the back is now bent back to the chassis, not a flap like I had.

The open bottom was a bigger issue. I spent 21 dollars on a 36x36 sheet of aluminum. It weighs very little, but with the bends is strong enough. The rivets came from a drawer in the garage, so basically free
