Brake control

My first brake control when ka-put on me today. Worked normally couple weeks ago. Dead today. It's probably about 3 years old. Anyone have any input on a typical life span of one of these. It's make by tekonsha. All connected wires look snug. I checked the fuse box. I don't know if it's a fuse or relay- it's a black cube. Looks normal. Thanks for any input.

If your getting voltage to the controller and gave a good ground and still nothing (display or any signs of life) its a gonner. Had my P2 for 2 yrs and never had any issues. If its a random issues with it not operating correctly and all your connections are good, just replace it. I wouldnt want to rely on it in an emergency not knowing if its 100% functional or not.

My original controller also took a crap (I think it was a prodigy). It would work normal once in a while but the manual brakes would always work.

I ended up buying a Tekonsha P3, awesome controller.
