BrakeSmart

I installed a BrakeSmart controller on my first F350. It is no longer sold commercially. It was the best one I have ever used. They have been out of production for 6 + years.

Prior to that I suffered thru the junk that was available.

I agree, the BrakeSmart was the best controller I've ever used. And I've tested many brake controllers.

Hope you like your GM ITBC more than I do.

I use the Tekonsha P3 but can't wait until I can get a new TV with an integrated brake controller. Unfortunately my F150 is towing our new HT Fifthwheel better than I expected so the new TV may have to wait a little longer.

Tekonsha RF

I purchased a tekonsha rf, (radio frequency). I change cars frequently and I did not want to have to remount a standard break controller.

With this unit the main controller is mounted on the rv, and it gets its signal thru the 7 pin connector. In the vehicle you plug a hand held unit into the accessory plug, for us old timers, the cigarette lighter.

The hand held lets you know when the unit is connected or disconnected, you can boost, or break the trailer.

Nice unit, reliable, and you can tow the rv with any vehicle as long as you have the handheld
