Angry Broken Fiberglass Shower!

Has anyone had this happen to them. 2016 Jayco 321RSTS owned for 17 months. Went on a long weekend and when I took a shower the base of the shower actually broke. A hole and cracks all around the drain. OK, I know, your too heavy. 6', 210 lbs., so I do not think so! Have taken many showers in this unit. We are hoping Jayco covers it.

Why would they not? Are you the original owner?

When I looked at a new 26xd the shower floor was very soft. Looked at another model jayco next to it and it was solid. I think jayco may have a qc issue with bracing under the showers.

I know they do. We completely rebuilt ours underneath. Big pain in the . . . Another underbuilt, built to fail, on the cheap, design and assembly flaw. If you are keeping the Jayco and plan on using the shower, get a new pan and rebuild it yourself correctly. Add it to the list.

They used to put a styrofoam block under them.

Spoke with dealer and they said they will not be able to get the part until sometime in December. We are scheduled to leave December 18th for a trip to St.Louis. This is crazy. What kind of dealer network does Jayco have? Can we "swing" by the factory on our way to St. Louis and get it fixed? Discouraged!

3m makes a carbon fiber square 12x12 I think with adhesive backing you could remove drain cover
Cut a hole to size stick to floor lots of sealant for a tempfix

You have to make an appointment for factory repairs, last I saw they were booking into April 2019 already.

Spoke with Jayco today. They tried to find a dealer that might be able to do the work earlier but not a whole lotta luck. Some are 3 hours away one way! They told else that if we could fined someone other than a Jayco dealer that would fix it promptly, they would ship the part to them and pay them directly. Hope we can find someone local!

As far as reinforcement, I think you need to get under the RV, cut an opening in the plastic cardboard, remove insulation and be able to spray foam for added bracing.

If it's like most I have dealt with the reinforcement can be added to the bottom of the shower floor before it is set in place. Either styrofoam blocks or even a wood box built on the floor.

Every Jayco I looked at, including the one I purchased has a "soft" shower floor. It has some give to it, by design. 4 years living in it 6 months a year and showering each day, never an issue. And i'm not a light weight..it almost feels like foam is under the shower floor, which it may be. Your actually missing a piece of the floor, that's not typical of plastic shower surrounds.

Good Luck..

Is it the rectangular shower with the corner seat and sliding3 section door? If so we have the same shower. No issues with ours yet and I haven't watched where I stand.

Can't you access the underside? It should be over the basement area. You might have to remove the carpeted luan panels to get to it.

Most RV dealers are very behind, they are overwhelmed by the numer of sales over the last couple years.

Call JAYCO and see uf they can get you in.

In my world the department of real estate could care less how busy we are.Enough consumer complaints they pull are license and we are out of business! No big dog for the RV industry, lots of sales tax for the cities and counties. There all happy except the consumer in some cases!
