Unhappy Bummed

Just looked at the ol' calendar and realized that there's no more camping for us until after tax day.

I knew it was going to happen this way when we bought the trailer (that's the life of a CPA, right?), but it hadn't hit home until I saw it in writing this morning. I guess I was just in denial thinking "no big deal, we'll work some time to go out"; well, not so much.

Looking at the extended forecast and all the beautiful weather it holds just makes me even more sad.

I am just as bummed as you are.
1) We live in Minnesota, so our camping really doesn't start until Mother's Day weekend (May 11th this year) which is always our first camping trip of the year.
2) We just signed papers on a brand new 2013 Eagle 314BDS and will not be taking delivery until April 18th (Good Friday in more ways than one).
3) This winter is just hanging around way toooooooo long.

DW and I decided maybe we could do a couple "camp driveways", but it's just not the same. And I'm not sure it would help at all; I'm thinking it might make it worse. On the upside, it would give me a chance to install all those mods I have on the list...

A good friend of mine is a CPA and you guys work your butts off. I think you should take April 16th thru Dec 31st off! You deserve it!

Not really, there are always taxes that need to be done for the people who filed extensions and businesses that also need their taxes done that are on a fiscal calendar.

I am I already notified everyone that I will be gone for a this weekend for our 16th Anniversary. I haven't taken time off during tax time in 12 yrs. We are going camping to the lake for 2 days. Can't wait.

Not much different here. We have to winterize mid-October, and Easter is usually the first camping trip.

Not only that, but when you round our your business with other services like bookkeeping and payroll, there's always something to do.

Happy anniversary and have a great trip!

I know this belongs in the joke section, but I figure this is a good place for it.

An accounting firm is hiring a new accountant and there are 3 applicants for the job. They bring each one in at a time and ask them 1 simple question.

What is 2 plus 2...

The first guy looks thoughtful and says.. 3
The second guy comes in and thinks about it for a second and then says 5
The last guy comes in and looks at the interviewer with a smile on his face and says. "What do you want it to be"

We have to wait till late May, Victoria Day weekend is too busy and full of the wrong crowd. At least its something to look forward to considering how long this winter is lasting

Find a campground close to town and commute to work from there.
I do that in the summer, the campground is about 5 miles out has a nice beach with good swimming
and a snack shake. What more does a person need?
