Bunkhouse Air Flow Issue

I have a Jay flight 264bhw. There's a vent in the top bunk and nothing in the bottom bunk so it gets hot in there. Any tips or mods for dealing with that issue?

I'm not familiar with your floorplan, but in our 22BHM there is a shelf by the TV that faces the bunks. On very hot nights, we have placed a small fan facing the bottom bunk to circulate the air.

With that said, my kids favor the bottom bunk since they claim the top on gets too cold.

I put a fan on the bathroom sink and aimed it towards the lower bunk. It seemed to help. But I was hoping someone had came up with a mod for it.

We have same model and that was the same fix i used. I am thinking about a small fan mounted to underneath of upper bunk because granddaughter likes to close curtain on lower bunk.

I had a similar situation and have done 3 things to remedy it.

Small 12 volt fans like these.

Cut a big hole in the bunkbed!

It does help to circulate air.

And added a vent although you mentioned having one already.

One of the last items on the list is to try and get a window that opens instead of the little one up there now.

Cheers

The top bunk gets nice and cold. Everyone loves that bunk. It's the lower one that gets hot. Thought about making hole thru to the bathroom but didn't want to create an easy way for any poop smell to flow into there. I also considered (and may do it) put a vent in under tv. The issue with the lower bunk is that there's no airflow especially if you close the curtain.

We clip a fan to the edge of the opening of the lower bunk and then plug it in to the outlet above the sink (18month old sleeps in there so he would unplug it if we used the outlet in the bunk.) It helps some. I also learned to turn off the hot water heater a good bit before his bedtime as it is located directly under the bunk and open the storage door underneath the bunk to help circulate the hot air out, that made a difference as well.

Coming from the sailboat world into RV camping, we use Caframo 12v fans on the boat that I'll be installing on our 25BH. They provide a lot of air movement and don't draw a lot of battery power.

Westmarine has them listed and sure they are available at Amazon also.
