I agree, we had a waterfront site once and it was grand central thru there. Day and night. Only 2 people asked if they could go thru, and most were courtious, but some had no regaurd, walked under our easy up, one couple walked up as we were eating and sat at our picnic table uninvited, and most of the kids ran wild until I yelled at some of the Huckle Berry Dillinger's, and they started respecting our space a lot more. Anyway I payed for that site and I didnt walk thru anyone else's site that weekend, so why did they come thru mine?

Other people's music - parents making more noise yelling at their kids to "be quiet" than the kids were making in the first place - people walking through 'my' site - dog crap, beer caps & tin foil left in the fire-pit & drunken fools.....

We've come to boondock it more & more to avoid getting frustrated at others inconsiderate behavour - the less services at the site the better. We've had a fire-ban over the summer here, which seems to have kept lots of the younger crowd away.

We were at a place called "China Beach" here on the Island (Frenchs Beach was full) - beautiful beaches, small campground with nothing but pit toilets...was a wonderful, quiet weekend spent exploring the BC coastline....awesome!

What gets one's dander up over impolite campers or the lack of what use to be called "campground etiquette"... the list is too long to post here. One thing I found during the last 2 months as campground hosts for the National Park system was we got to turn the tables on some of what we felt were the worst offenders. We did everything from simply asking they quiet down and the such (most did as soon as asked) to costing them $$$ from fines imposed by Park Rangers to having some fined and escorted out of the part, one was even banned for 5 years from the park system. He can get back on by having someone else drive or with a fake ID, etc but if caught he'll most certainly pay the price. This type of person usually gets caught as they can't seem to keep quiet and so bring unwanted attention to themselves.

One thing we have pretty much decided is to sell our 5th wheel trailer and truck and get out of RV'ing altogether. This isn't due to our experience hosting but rather it's just a decision to do other travels. If we do stay in the RV lifestyle it'll be with a motorhome but we'll see what the next few months brings. Shoulder surgery is first on the order of business, not that I look forward to it. I know I'll be better off but the recoup time is going to be about 5 months.
