Full Back Chair - Westfield - Folding Chairs - Camping World
I bought this one for my husband because it has lumbar support. Unfortunately it is also the dog's favorite (see profile pic)!

I like these because the back reclines to a few different positions. I can't sit in any that don't recline. It makes all the difference for me.

It's a folding Papasan style chair.

Love it! That would have been perfect for all the long hours at the soccer field with my son!
Somehow light and compact do not go hand in hand with zero gravity. As for storing them, right now, I throw an old sheet over the bed and lay them on top when traveling. It does make it easy with the bedroom door to setup and break down at a campsite. When we had the motorhome we had more storage and they stayed in the basement.

I think there are so many chairs out there because there are so many opinions about what makes a chair great. I know that I have been swapping out chairs every year or two, because I could never find one that felt "right" for the long evenings by the fire. This year's addition is the Coleman ComfortSmart Suspension Chair https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-20000...man+Camp+Chair
I must say that this is by far the most comfortable chair I have had for camp use ever. I am a fairly big guy, 6'2" and 245lb. so most of the little chairs don't feel very comfortable at all. The biggest problem with it is size; collapsed it is about the same size as our folding camp table. The only other negative is that the back is full mesh - great when it's 90 degrees out, but not so much when you're huddled around the fire at 32. But throw a blanket over the back, and it is great again.

I have a butterfly chair from cost + imports that I like. You can get them at Target or Amazon though. When they get older, the fabric tends to stretch out a bit and you'll have a hell of a time getting out of it. I'm sure you can relate if you own one. You can replace that part every few years easy though. It's more of a 'I'm relaxing' mode chair. We have a bunch from REI as well that we use. Really, anything other than those super cheap aluminum frame ones that looks like they are from the 70's work for us. I popped a rivet out of one of those last trip and and ended up eating dirt. I weigh 175lbs wet so that's pretty lame.

This is my favorite, and I sit on the sidelines of a lot of soccer fields. The benefit is that it's only $30.

Sports Chair- Navy - Picnic Time 809-00-138 - Folding Chairs - Camping World
I've had a disc repaired between L4 and L5 and I need lumbar support. You just don't find that in camping chairs. The closest I come is the chair above which at least lets me sit up straight. Most camping chairs are curved or webbed at the back of your "butt" so you feel like you're sliding out of them. That KILLS my back.
Every time I'm in a camping store or sports store I go sit in every chair they have - and I've never found one that's comfortable for more than a few minutes.

Try this one- https://www.amazon.com/Timber-Ridge-.../dp/B010TWSS84
I am also a back pain sufferer (have avoided surgery for 5 years, but still struggle with L4/L5 bulging disc), and this chair works for me. It has more padding than most, and I can put an ice pack behind my low back, kick back and be void of the tension that usually accompanies sitting in most chairs.

a hearty "Second" to the dual lock chair; it's the only folding/carry in a bag chair I've found that doesn't feel like I'm sitting in the top of a five-gallon bucket..

Strongback Chair
These chairs are just as name implies.
They are designed to give lumbar support, and do not fail.

We have tried many chairs over the years, never quite satisfied. Then, this past summer, we found these at Murdoch's Ranch and Home Supply for $60. Extremely solid, sturdy, well-built and very comfortable.
