If you were in Baltimore some time ago, then you'll know what I mean when I say I worked for the "Sunpapers."

You must know some great Mencken stories. Loved that guy's style. Loved the ball bearing building, too. Sorry to hijack.

Oh yes, there are definitely stories! One of the photographers who worked there when I started had worked with "Mr. Mencken" when the photographer was younger and he certainly had stories. A few of Mencken's opinions raise eyebrows to say the least, but wasn't afraid to write what he thought! I still find his writings very entertaining.

[QUOTE=cekkk;215513]I got introduced to blue crabs in '72 after relocating to Maryland from Iowa. We'd go down to the Naval Academy with some string, a net and raw chicken, sit on the rocks and do some crabbin'. Back then a bushel of crabs cost a little more than half of what we paid for a dozen when we returned in '11. Got to say, the first guy to eat one of those critters had to be darned hungry! Ugly!

Also miss great lobsters. For several years we'd put in an advance order to Finest Kind Lobsters and meet their trucks in local parking lots to claim our live prize.

Best we can do here in the middle of Colorado out of cell phone range is the occasional Rocky Mountain Oyster dinner. Yum![/QUO

Bought a bushel last week for the dogs birthday party. $300 a bushel. What the hell, its only money
