Camping with Dogs in Canada

Hi All, looking to do some cross border camping this season. We have a dog, 3 year rabies cert good until 2021.

What do we need to get her across the border? I am a little lost reading the information on the Canadian Gov't websites and figured someone(s) out here will know for sure.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I’m Canadian. Never had a problem crossing the border with a dog. Neither side, to date, has asked for proof of any vaccinations but I keep the rabies certificate with me just in case

I can assure you that you wont be camping in Canada this year. Thankfully the border is closed until the Covid numbers go down in the US. I think it will be closed for the rest of the year.

Just coming to post that.... I was looking to travel to Niagara Falls with the dog, and was researching information. That's exactly what I found out.. Told wifey we can go, but we'll have to stay on the US side.

X2
When you can cross the border you’ll find out it’s easier for the dog than for you.

Traveled to Canada with dogs a number of times to visit my cousins.

Have a vet certify that all immunizations are up to date and have a copy of the shot record. Also have the rabies certificate.

Make sure you have your passport.

It's not the dog that's the problem this year... it's the people and Covid. The dog has an easier pass crossing the border than you do.
