Camping with kids

So didn't really know what section to out this under so sorry if I'm in the wrong area.. But I was wondering what some may have done for a place for a 1 year old to sleep.. In our previous TT we were able to fit a baby gate in the opening for the lower bunk.. In the current TT the bunk opening is on an angle and I'm thinking the pressure of the baby gate being on the corners of the wall and trim will break.. We've thought about getting a small pack and play to fit between the benches for the dinette.. Any other ideas would be appreciated

What tt do you have?

You could add a few reinforcement points/blocks to add a secure place for a gate.

Pending on the bunk design, put the kid further back, use a pressure gate back behind the angle.

I made a "L" shape bracket that slipped under the mattress and a board was placed against it.

We did the Pack and Play route until my youngest was 18 months old or so. By then, she was in and out of that bottom bunk on her own.

We did the pack and play in place of the dinette for all 3 of our kids. Worked great. We would pack it up in the morning for breakfast and lunch, then open it up for nap and usually eat dinner outside.

Worked great, had lots of wonderful trips and memories!

I bought an 8 ft. 2 x 2 and some 1/2 inch dowel rods and made a 18 inch "wall". Then attached L shaped brackets do a small piece of 1/4 plywood and the 2X2. Coated with polyurathane and done. Slid the plywood under the mattress to hold the crib style wall in place, Worked for three kids over the years and now my granddaughter sleep behind it in their camper.

I did something similar to what Roger described but I used PVC. Worked very well for us...

In the previous TT (1979 Layton) we had a tub/shower and all 7 of our kids slept in the tub. Great memories. Our current TT is a 2016 Jayco and now the GKids sleep on the floor at the side of the bed and we use a modified board that slides between two cleats at the end of the walkway to contain them for the night. Just have to be careful you step over them if you have to get up during the night. Still great memories. GKids fight to stay in what they call the canyon.
