I think I have found the secret in my area. I found an RV repair place in our region that is a repair shop only. I've only had them service once, but was really impressed. Spent a bit of time chatting with the owner when I picked up from service.
Really started as an "RV body shop" repairing heavy accident damage, but then seems they moved into all general RV repairs (except motor repair, although they will contract that on request).
These guys are great as they have no affiliation with any brand, and it is truly first come first served since no one bought from them. They are a bit outside the city in a rural area, so their prices are very good too. Says they have been doing a lot of warranty cap repaints for Jayco lately; didn't think to ask if these were direct customer walk-ins or sub-contracts from Jayco dealers unable to do the finish work themselves.
All this to say, look outside the box a bit, and you may have an RV shop in your area too that isn't a stealership.

That is a great idea. After I move I will see if I can locate a stand alone shop.

We have a independent rv repair business like that here. My Jayco dealer contracted them to complete some blow out repairs on my rig a few years back. They are fast and great to work with.

Their primary business started out as selling used motor homes, then fixing the problems and now any type rv repair.

I would go there in a second if I needed them again.

Was looking to purchase a new trailer, and the sales person didn't know her a-- from her elbow. Everytime we had a question it was I'm not sure or I'll have to get back to you. She never contacted us with our questions. We bumped into her at the Boston Camping and Trailer show and had the nerve to ask us if we were still in the market. I wad dealing with the Berkley, Mass. CW. The store is the only good thing I can say.

I just got a quote from them for a new travel trailer. Advertised prices were very competitive - then they tell you there are $2000 in destination fees (I was picking up) and a demo/delivery fee (again I was picking up). After the 2K in extras, the price was not so competitive anymore!

My CW is handing these out: Thought I would post it:
When I have had to contact Marcus, I got responses very promptly!

Hopefully it helps someone not getting satisfactory service.

I will avoid them. I called for warranty service appt. in Early October & was told December would be earliest possible window, Than they said where not even sure that they can get me in? No date was offered & than said they take care of the customers that bought from their dealership first. They took my name & number & I still haven't heard from them & probably never will. I called Jayco direct to complain & they said " yea these dealers are independents, so we have no control over them". What kind of BS is that! Called Camping world & they set me up with an appointment for Saturday, No problem with them so far. Jayco needs to address this warranty work problem or they will go on my list.

Every time I had to e-mail Marcus, I always got a call from a manager at the CW I was having issues with. From what I have seen IMHE, is when customers e-mail Marcus, they get InTouch with the management at the camping world you are having issues with and they call you.

I would e-mail Marcus again telling them as of this date, (and you e-mailed them on Thursday) you STILL have not heard from anyone and you are wondering WHY?

Just sent Marcus another e mail. Movers came today and I had them leave a mattress for my wife and I to sleep on. Close house on Nov 23. Be in jail on the 24th . This is bull crap. Sent Tampa CW another email since no one will ever answer a phone or call u back. Judgement day is getting close.

Ok after two emails to Marcus I get back an e mail from Stacy at CW corporate that she will have someone from Tampa CW reach out to me. Well after three months come Monday I will be reaching out to someone at Tampa CW. WTF is going on in Tampa CW. Well read the local paper come Tuesday cause I will be reaching out on Monday. This place is a freaking joke and needs to be shut down. Never ever even think about going there to buy or get service done. There BS has to stop. Two things in life I will not put up with a Lier or cheat. And I have been looked at eye to eye by four people at Tampa CW and have been now lied to.

I was told to not to take my RV to Camping World because they have a lot of young people who are just starting out, non-experience people there.

We will not even call a dealer unless we are absolutely incapable of doing the work ourselves. Warranties mean nearly nothing to us. It really stinks. As we age, we know that the day will come when we have to rely on shops to maintain and repair our vehicles. We know that we will get screwed on a regular basis. We'll go on our own as long as we can.
