Camping World

I know a lot of you have had some issues with CW, but I wanted to post recent activity with my local store here in SC.

We shopped CW when we started searching for our new trailer. They were not even close to the price we got when we purchased our 212qb in PA.

When we needed the inevitable warranty work, our local CW took care of all of the repairs, no questions asked.

The service department scheduled the appointment, made a list of repairs, ordered the parts and completed all of the work to our complete satisfaction. The staff there kept us fully informed each step of the way and completed the work on time.

Just wanted to give them a thanks for a job well done.

I believe they are a franchise. I just haven't found a CW that was honest yet
Our nearest one wanted all our personal info before showing us any trailer . We declined and he still let us out on the lot with hiJe said we could pull a 5500 lb trailer with our 5000 lb tow capacity truck
What a pushy salesman
We left

I’ve had a couple pleasant experiences at CW.

Hmmm. Isn't “pushy salesman” redundant?

I had a few small problems with my Starcraft I bought from CW in 2016. I was able to get them fixed, a black tank valve leaking, a porch light lost while traveling, and a rusted stabilizer jack that broke on first use. I bought all the parts and made them reimburse me for the cost. I did not want it tied up for months in the shop. I dealt with the GM of the CW dealership, not the Service Manager. It was to my satisfaction, but I would not buy from them again.

Was this dealership a recent acquisition by CW? Most are good for about a year after acquisition and then they go downhill fast after all the CW policies and procedures are implemented.

OP glad to hear of your positive experience. Not sure what SC one you went to but while camping in Myrtle Beach SC 3-4 years ago we stopped in the local one. Just needed propane. But while there we decided to check out some 5th wheels. The sales people were nice and told us the campers were unlocked and feel free to look. We were happy they didn’t want to follow us around. They did come check on us twice as we were looked for prolly 45 mins.

As did we. A year later, though, it was bought out by Gander (CW). Thankfully, they’ve still been pretty good.

Nope, not a new CW store. I moved here in 2013 and they were here then, I think.

They also have no problem letting us look at units on the lot for sale.

Anyway, just my experience....

We had a very nice salesman at CW, when we bought our TT in 2016, but the minute we were done signing the papers, he act like he didn’t know us.

Reminds me of the old quote, "Wham, bam, thank you, ma'am!"

We had a Camping World try selling us a unit that was there for service. The owner was mad when he saw the salesman taking us through his motorhome. We knew something was wrong as soon as we stepped inside.

I purchased my camper from CW in 2012. It was a very pleasant experience. The walk through, not so much as I knew more than the tech did. Worked out great though and I haven't been back there since. One other thing, they can't set up a WDH worth a crap.

Same experience on our walk thru. They do not care about setting up WD Hitches, they just want you on your way.

We bought our Melbourne from Kaysville, UT Camping World. We are well pleased 5 years later. Our sales guy was great. We like CW a lot.
