Camping World "goes above and beyond poor customer service"

Family says they were stuck in Mesa RV store for an hour after it closed

Not surprised. Sad reality is their business model from the top down. Personally after my experience with the salesmen in Albuquerque actually yelling at my wife for concerns she raised and bribing her with paying us his commission just to take the deal as is was overly concerning. Needless to say we had a long chat with the manager who in his own way said this ain’t the first time but he is their top volume seller so they deal with it.

Never the less a poor example of customer service. Sucks they got locked in and maybe more coverage could change their models of customer interactions.

It starts at the top. And I won't shop there.

Wow. And I guess they don't have an alarm in their store? With the amount of money in inventory you would think they would. Sounds like a thief's dream!!

If you had read the article, you would know that they were locked inside the fence at their facility, not inside the store itself.

Correct, I didn't. It's camping world so I always believe the worst with them. But it still stands, no alarm to protect all that inventory. Or, maybe this time the people weren't smart enough to set off the alarm.

We were stuck in an elevator a few years ago and after several tries the in-elevator-phone finally worked and someone listened to our plight; although we weren't sure of the exact facility address and elevator number it eventually moved to the next floor and we jumped out!

No one in the office lobbies responded to the emergency bell and only commented that they had heard something but weren't sure what it was.

Gotta ask why they arrived to buy an RV with less than a 1/2 hour to closing. At almost every business does a sweep before closing up. And CW normally locks up their units before closing. Were these folks inside a unit during a closing sweep?

Shouldn't have happened but very late arrival to shop and apparently not having a clue they arrived just before closing places some blame on the parents. Never assume a business is going to be open late, especially on a weekend.

Mesa Police gets a for helping the family out.

But I don't think it's a good idea to touch an electric fence with signs warn of 7000 volts. Had it been live, could have been a fried cop.

I have been down to that lot and it is huge. You can walk and walk and get lost in that lot. Maybe somebody at Camping World should have told these people that they only had 30 minutes to look and then they will be closing. Or the people should have realized that they only had 30 minutes to look and then get out. ?
