Camping World Macon, Ga

Salesman just called me and the deal we had agreed to last week they told me they could no longer honor as it was causing them to loose 7-8k. I am beyond infuriated as we spent a week working it out, not like we said something and misspoke. Even talked to the GM and he said he was the one that changed it. The whole process was difficult even though I emailed them the exact accessories I wanted added on down to the model number. They kept quoting different manufactures
and equipment.

Suppose to be leaving Friday to pick it up and now I have to cancel the check with the credit union and start this process all over again.

Never had that kind of experience at any vehicle dealer.

If you search posts on CW, you will find that other people have had this and many many other problems with Camping World stores.

Was anything in writing?
Did you have a deposit placed on the unit and if so did you get a copy of that agreement?

Yep, except the deposit. I offered it but because of the generator being added they were not sure how much. Very disorganized process. Passed from one person to another 5-6 people involved on their end. Even the service manager, who said the Jayco Northpoint wasn't prewired for a backup camera.

If you had a signed agreement I would consider a lawyer

One more supporting evidence you don't want to deal with Camping World. They possess insufficient knowledge about what they are selling.

From the Jayco North Point manual:

Your recreation vehicle has been pre-wired to allow installation of a (customer supplied & customer installed) rear backup camera. Wiring is in place to install the camera at the rear of the vehicle, and has been routed to the master bedroom to allow a hookup for the camera monitor.

Until the actual money changes hands both sides can walk away. (Deposit generally never hold up in court for the dealer unless they can prove they were harmed) I refuse to sue someone for the privilege of buying something from them.

It really just confirms all the internet chatter about Camping World. I really hate to believe the rumors, but it's hard not to at this point.

Just for a giggle write to Trailer Life/Motorhome complaint line outlining your story and see what they say....

If sent emails to Camping World corporate already. Haven't seen a response, but frankly not much they can do at this point as I won't be able to travel to pickup a new RV anytime soon.

You can EMail Marcus directly. I did once and had a reply within the hour and a phone call shortly there after.

Any chance a nearby non-Camping World Jayco dealer is in your area? You might get a better deal.

I've gotten emails from his 'Rapid Response Team' in the past. One time I actually got a response from HIM.

Checked all the jayco dealers. It's not so much the price. It's availability of a unit equipped the way we want. At this point it looks like we will just order and wait. Id pay more to get one now, but not $8000 more and with a dealer that backs out of an agreed price.

Which Sharpsburg are you? We're heading up to PA this weekend to pickup our new White Hawk.

Tried to get CW Macon to honor the "beat any deal" as advertised on the website, sales guy refused offer any deal until I emailed a copy of my driver's license. Sent him a copy of weblink and build sheet, along with all my info (incl credit score) and got nothing in response except for questioning how many fees my dealer would add upon delivery. (None, per the website.) Sent an email to marcuvip, all it got me was an increase is CW/Good Sam emails. And the unit in Oakwood we had originally called about and were told had been sold a month ago is still listed on the website. Pretty sad sales experience.

Good luck with your next search, we spent six months trying to find our model at a good deal.

I'm from MD. But I had a very similar experience. Seems those dealer ships are trying to recreate the buying experience of 80's car dealers.
