Central Alabama campgrounds

I was wondering if anyone had a favorite campground in the central Alabama area. Since I haven't been able to camp much this summer I was thinking of maybe taking a 2 week trip sometime in November or December and hoping it would still be warm enough there for camping. It would be a 1 day drive for me at ~ 450 miles. I've looked at a bunch online but just curious if anyone has been to one that really stands out. Thanks, Terry

Not really central Al but a little north of central. OUTSTANDING State Park and beautiful campground:

The alapark website is a great source for locating parks in Alabama. DeSoto State Park, Cheaha, Frank Jackson are just a few. Some of the most popular ones such as DeSoto and Cheaha are hard to get reservations due the fall colors. There are a lot of beautiful campgrounds in the State. Good luck and happy camping!

Ok thanks guys, I'll check 'em out. Was hoping for a full hookup site and I'm sure there's some at the state parks.

We stayed at Deer Lick State Park just north of Tuscaloosa. Just a beautiful campground.

Most all of the Alabama State Parks have sites with FHU. Enjoy your stay. A great time of the year to come.

There are a couple of places in Wetumpka. Swayback camp ground, Leisure RV, and a brand new RV park next to the Sports Complex (not sure of the name).

A beautiful place to camp is Wind Creek on Lake Martin as well.

Boy you guys were right! Finding a spot in Alabama in November is tough. It's that way in October here as we leaf peak later in the month. I did find this park and wonder if anyone has been there and has an opinion.

Have not stayed there but there are a few YouTube videos that may be of interest. Happy camping!
