Thats a good price... The Honda units would be my first choice but these are becoming pretty popular now with the RV'ers..

Will be pretty heavy to roll around and lift up into back of truck where using two 2000Watt Honda EU2000i models would each weigh less... You can get appx 3600watts (usable) from two 2kw Honda generators hooked up in parallel. I suspect you will only get 2800 WATTS (usable) from the Champion 3100 model...

I think I read these 3100 models weigh around 95lbs

Might want to consider if the 2800 available watts will run your air conditioner OK

For under $100.00 you can get a truck bed lift at harbor freight that works great to lift heavier gens into your truck box.. I got one last winter and use it all the time when going camping...

It weighs 96 lbs. As a woman I can lift it out of truck alone but not necessarily in but that's not a problem since I don't Camp alone.

I've read it runs the 15 btu a/c no prob as long as micro isn't on at same time. We haven't had to use it for a/c yet.

Great price, it runs a 13500 btu and micro but make sure it's not in economy mode!

I've been using a Champion gen for three years now and it has been extremely reliable and comparably as quiet as the Hondas and Yamahas.

I am almost 70 with a worn back still throw this "CHAMPION" on the back of my truck. And are only double what the genny weights. This is a very good Inverter/Generator and runs the A/C with ease. Also if needed parts are easy to get.

Thanks for the info, I now know what I want for xmas. Just curious, why do you have to take it out of the back of the truck?

We put it away when we leave campsite or at night depending.

Don't have a pickup. Have an SUV.
