Changing Dometic 310 to 320
I want to replace my 310 with the 320 but the measurement from the back wall to the center of the studs is 10.5" and the installation manual says 11" is required for the 320. Has anybody installed a 320 with a little shorter wall clearance?

I wish I could help but our Pinnacle is at my dealer waiting on a new hydraulic pump. I do know it was a tight fit. I should have it back in another 10 days or so if you don't find the info you are needing.

Thanks Jim,
I swear I read a string on this forum where somebody replaced a 310 with a 320 and had the same 10.5" I have. I can't find the string though.

Would you mind if a rookie asks why you want the 320 over the 310?

I'm 6'1" and 280 # and on the 310 I just don't fit.

We will replace the plastic OEM toilet. I talked to an RV tech and he said there were problems with the 320.
This must have been the problem.

The 320 is basically the same size as a home toilet with the taller height and elongated bowl. Much more accommodating especially for the older version of my used to be younger self.

Does the existing hole in the floor after you remove the old toilet have to be modified that extra 1/2 “ to fit the 320. Or is it just the elongated top of the 320 that is the issue.

Just the top. The bases are the same.

This is the critical measurement.

I saw a post I believe on the Forest River forums where a guy was able to adjust the angle of a 320 to fit in the old space but he had enough knee and elbow room be able to do that. Don’t know if you have the space.

The toilet on the Eagle is already at an angle. I think any movement off of center would hit the wall behind. I think my only hope is it fits at 10.5" and doesn't need the whole 11".

Found this on the Forest River forum site. I would be hesitant to do that on an outside wall but definitely would try it on an inside wall.

That could be the ticket. It is an inside wall and about 1-1/2" thick. That would be easy to cut out and that piece looks store bought.

When I installed my 310, I believe the hole was slightly larger than the waste pipe and could be unscrewed and shifted 1//4 to 1/2 inch. The base was screwed to the floor with... well wood screws!
With the specs on the 2 Dometics, you should be able to measure it and determine if it will fit. If it's close you could take the old one up and see if adjusting it away would do the trick. I am looking to it myself one day but my major obstacle is the door clearance at the front of the bowl.
I replaced the oe Thetford that was on mine for the 310, my wife picked out. I call it the squatty potty cause it fits her but not me!

I will defiantly check to see if the waste pipe and plate can shift prior to modifying the wall. Hope I can be so lucky. I think I am going to pull the trigger on the 320 and see if it fits on 10.5" center or what modification I will need to make. I will keep y'all posted but it will be a few weeks.
