Changing GPS ownership with manafacturer

If a gps unit comes with lifetime map and traffic updates, can these updates be downloaded if I buy a used unit?

I wouldn't think so. My Tom Tom is attached to an online account. I guess if the previous owner would give you their account sign on info then you could get it.

Tough to say.... May be a situation where it only applies to the original owner who registered the gps.

Maybe try emailing the manufacture and asking.

Good luck!!!

Gps

I've purchased 2 stand-alone GPS units and, refurb or new, I never paid over $60 for a nice 5" display with lifetime maps. The in-dash unit in our Seneca has a one-year update subscription available for $60ish. The savings aren't gonna buy you a hamburger out.
