Charged Excessively

Jayco sent me a notice that my levelers needed to be fixed under a recall although it was working fine. They directed me to take it to their dealer in Winter Haven, Fl.. It was almost 70 miles away even though I live close to Tampa. I took my RV there and they said they did as was required. When I later tried to use it, it malfunctioned. On June 27 I took it back, traveling another 140 miles. The levelers seem to work OK now, but they did something which caused the generator not to work. I then called a mobile RV repair who discovered that they wired up my battery wrong.
When the dealer finished, they charged me $179 to diagnose the fault that was caused by them in the first place (the recall). They also charged me $179 to look at replacing the motor on my step. They said they could not replace it because they didn't have the part, but they still charged me $179 which they did not inform me of before they started. No one charges for giving an estimate for future work! Recently I had my mobile RV repair look at the step and in 10 minutes they informed me of the problem and another 10 minutes to fix it. The motor cost less than the dealer's diagnosis!
I asked Jayco to reimburse me for the charges. Not only was I not reimbursed for the gas to drive my gas hog the 140 miles to repair their error, but most egregious, they charged me for diagnosing a RECALL! Jayco refused to reimburse me for their errors.
I am totally disgusted. I hope you will keep this in mind when you take your RV into Jayco for a repair/fix.

Dealer's are all Independent, none are JAYCO owned.

Your issue is with the dealer not Jayco. As Grumpy said, dealers are all independently owned and operated...

They seemed to be out to cheat me and didn't seem to care about Jayco. They "stole" $179 from me and there is no way to get it back without suing, right? Well, I have never sued & I'm not going to start now.
Even at my old age, I'm still learning how the world works.

Every one I've dealt with are and most sell multiple brands. There are a few that are brand specific. Camping World is starting to sell single brands at some stores, but still owned by Lemonis.
