Cheap outside shower door fix
I can’t believe how cheap the plastic is on these doors. Mine came warped and I was basically told the replacement would be the exact same. I looked for a replacement metal one, couldn’t find one. So I got creative... I had an old license plate frame laying around that fit perfect, I cut the bottom of one long side off, leaving one long side and 2 short “legs”. Then drilled and riveted it to the top part of the door. Works great! Looks good, will look better when I have some black paint to touch up the white rivets, right now they are black sharpie colored.

That is very ingenious. I was trying to figure out what the hell you did and then came across the pic with the door open. Nice.

Thanks all. Definitely looks better and now I’m confident it won’t fly off going down the road. I good stick 2 fingers in the gap before.

Mine is a little warped, but nothing like yours. Wow. I can see that catching a lot of wind as you drive and ripping off on the interstate. Nice fix.

Thanks!
Bad thing is mine came that way, trailer was bought 2 weeks ago, and built late September. If I had a CNC machine, I’d manufacture something like that and make a fortune... I’m guessing I’m not the only one having the same issue.

Don’t mind at all....hopefully it can be improved upon as well.
I think I may as some long metal pieces to both sides of fridge vent as well (if there’s room, haven’t looked yet) as they are somewhat warped too.

Really smart. Thankfully, mine is in good shape.
I did opt to switch it so you didn't need a key to open it. There are some drawbacks to doing that, but where we camp there are no real concerns about it. Most importantly, I don't have to run and get the key every time the kids need to clean up outside!

Something I do to the outside shower is I use a space blanket to insulate the door when cold. I guess it could not hurt anything. (Don't mean to hijack the thread.)

Thats a great idea. Im going to do that to mine in the spring! Just a thought, I know the plastic is cheap and tends to warp easily on its own. When using the water hose to hook up to city water, which on my Whitehawk 32KBS is directly above that panel door on the drivers side of the trailer in the rear, I put a small 1/2 "loop" in the water hose and then put that in the door panel which serves help prop up the door panel. I think that would also help to keep the panel from warping so much if one didnt have the solution you do. Ill try to remember to post a pic of mine when I get it out this spring, but Im definitely going to take this solution to work on my rig. Its annoying when the door doesnt completely shut well and I worry about it blowing out on the road and the shower wand falling out and dragging by the hose! Cmon on Jayco.....get a better design for that!

Thanks! I’m sure there’s prob a better solution, but that’s what I had and it fit, so I went with it...lol..... please do post... I’m curious exactly what that looks like, I think I understand but I’m a visual learner.... my city water connection I think would be to far away to do that, if I understand....

OP, you REALLY screwed up on this one! You should have bought a bunch of plate frames and rivets, made up an instruction sheet for the mod repair and marketed these. You could make a fortune! Lol!
Pretty slick mod. Nice job!!!
