Checking on camper and...

It warmed up some so I thought I would check on the camper. I left a few bars of Irish spring soap laying around. It smelled awesome inside but after looking around I noticed that I need to set some traps ASAP.

I have used just about everyone of those urban legends to keep mice away. I have decided none of them work. One year I cut up Irish Springs, and placed it in an open 5 gallon bucket that once held bird food,. That winter I caught about 20 mice in that bucket. They could crawl in, but could not crawl out.

I have decided traps are best, poisons if necessary (I have dogs). The one I would like to try someday is Cab Fresh. I have heard good things about it.

I think it strange, I have yet to see any signs of mice in my camper. I have set traps (just in case) and have yet to catch anything. I have placed rat poison in strategic places and have yet to get any takers. I once watched a documentary about rats/mice and they stated that a human is never more than nine feet away from a rat/mouse. I know they should be there, but I just see no signs.

I set a trap right next to the Irish spring soap. A little peanut butter and got 2 of the little flipping things so far. Darn woods out back, it's a never ending battle

I have been using Cab Fresh for the past few years, replace packs every 60 days. Also use peppermint oil and cotton balls as well. I never had a mice problem with this combination.

I have 2 "have a heart" traps as well which I check twice a week. I think that is the key, to be able to check the camper often. I am fortunate to be able to park my rig behind my house.
