Chevy invisible trailer

Anybody have the Chevy invisible trailer camera installed? Does it work at night time? Does it really work as advertised?

I believe it’s a 4K add on, if a $100 back up camera can see at the night I would hope those would...

Wow, 4K would be a steep add-on for one additional camera (for trailer) and a special program (merges two cameras images) incorporated into the truck's existing computer, which is all that would be required for the invisible effect (2nd camera required is already in the tailgate).

I do recall reading somewhere that the system may have multiple camera view capability, which may require additional cameras (??).

I’m not sure I understand what the use would be. I have a camera on the back of my truck and one on the back of the trailer. Both for backing up. I’m not sure knowing who’s following me that I can’t see in my mirrors is important, especially for 4K.

Am I missing something?

I haven't seen one in use yet. The trailer will need a camera installed at the back. GM assy kit is $400. Not sure if the optional camera that Jayco sells will work. You need to install an app in the truck and set it up. Last I heard they were having problems getting it to work with 5th wheels. Not sure what was wrong but sounded like something they will fix with a software update. I think truck also has to have the advanced trailering system option.

In order to get the "Invisible" part to work, the camera has to be mounted in a certain place, certain distance, etc so that it blends correctly with the other cameras. I installed the GM camera on the rear of my 355MMBQS so I could see behind the camper using the factory screen, not a display stuck on the windshield. It works well and you can select a view where you see down both sides of the camper and behind it. Not "invisible", but works in the same principle.

He was funny the first one or two of these parodies he did. But now he really just makes me want to throw up. He's become a parody of himself now.

Would you happen to know the model number of the GM part of that camera? I wanted to use the factory on-screen rather than one on top of the dashboard...I have a 2019 Silverado 1500 with the towing package. I already have the camera for the tow hitch but I was hoping to add the one for the camper now...Thanks in advance!

For $4,000.00, you could pay someone $10.00 to assist you in backing up with your trailer 400 times before you'd equal the amount of the option's cost.

Cameras

The Chevy commercial says there are, if memory serves me, 15 cameras in the package. As an engineer I can see lots of failure mechanisms that cost big bucks to fix. I'll pass.
