Yeah, my 2012 greyhawk has the same problem. It doesn't have side cameras but the navi system tries to show them anyway whenever you use the turn signals. The rear camera always works when you put it in reverse, but when you want to use it any other time it is a crap shoot.

I am considering changing out the whole system for something aftermarket, but that is down on the "to-do" list.

Find the power line for your rear camera. Disconnect it and hook it into your tail light feed or other power source that is on when the TV is running. This will make your rear camera on whenever the TV is connected and turned on. Just make sure it turns off when the TV is turned off. Good Luck.
