Clearance Lights

Have a simple question. I own a Jayco Pinnacle 36FTBS and I installed a backup camera. I wired it to the center clearance light as Jayco recommended. My question, can these lights be powered up via a panel or switch or do I have to plug the coach into the truck and turn on the lights?
Thanks very much for taking time to answer.

Only way to turn them on when not plugged into the truck is to buy a female plug, and run a jumper from the 12v constant (lead that charges your battery when plugged into the tv) to the parking/clearance lights. Or, you could tweak a blade fuse to turn the lights on, to power the camera.

If I recall correctly, it is the top two on the plug, but verify before you do so.... The fuse trick is how people turn the running lights on when camping instead of using the awning light.

Yep, you can buy a gizmo to turn the lights one while at camp.

I use a 15 amp fuse across the two receptacles that are across the Key, that aligns the 7 pin into the TV receptacle.

I am on my phone so I cannot post an image, but Google 7 pin wiring diagram, and you will see which wires you need to cross to get power to the lights.

That trick got me to the CG when the fuse went on my TV.

A piece of #20 wire will do the trick AND still allow the plug to latch in place.

I'm curious as to how you got that middle LED out. One of the folks here said it just pulls out of the rubber boot, but I can't seem to get that sucker to move. I'm afraid to force it, so I've put the camera project on hold for now.
