DALLAS: Around or Through?

As long as I don't go during rush hour, is it better to go through or around Dallas?

That depends.. Where are you coming into and going out of ? Also depends on your definition of rush hour... That being said Dallas is like any other large city.. Some road construction, always a bit of traffic.. But overall the roads are ok so if you come through during off hours then you should be ok..

Coming in from the east on 20 and heading up to Amarillo though Wichita Falls. One person has me going straight through while another wants me to take 635 around.

I live in east Texas and have traveled through Dallas many times pulling our fifth wheel. In my opinion, Loop 635 is to be avoided due to very heavy traffic and lots of lane changes.

I travel through Dallas on IH20. It runs somewhat south of the bulk of Dallas and during non-rush hour the traffic is not awful. During rush hour, the traffic is awful but doable. I believe that despite limitations IH20 is a much easier route than 635.

People in Dallas drive like idiots, in my experience, but I'm from Houston LOL. I saw a lot of weaving in and out, aggression, guy cut from fast lane to exit lane on one motion on 4 lane in front of me and that's all normal. Just keep your cool !

Be nice!!! No need to insult my city.. I was born in Houston and lived there for 34 years before moving to Dallas... So there is a whole lot I could say but this is a family forum so I won't..

Well you also have to deal with Jerry Jones and the Cowboys, so I guess I have to cut you some slack.

Go Texans!
