Daylight Savings Time

Also a good time to check your smoke and CO detectors too. Replace the batteries if needed, and if over 10 years old replace the unit.
My Eagle Scout was working on Fire Safety MB this afternoon, and one of the requirements is to do a home audit including the smoke detectors. Found two of the hardwired units would not chirp when pressed. One was dark, the other had its little green light on saying all was well. Probably been 6 months since we last tested them (every DST change we do it).
Guess it is a DIY store run this week to replace them all.

Congratulations to the Eagle Scout. Both of our sons are Eagle Scouts. The oldest got his 1st full-time job because he was an Eagle Scout - that is what the hiring manager told him.

We were in williams, az in early july. Was not used to it getting dark at 7pm. And it also got light way to early.

Sunset in July here in Kingman, 100 miles west of Williams, is around 8:30-8:45pm. Sunrise begins to lighten the skies about 5am, and sunrise is about 5:30. This helps those who have outside jobs get in a full days work and quit during the heat of the day which can exceed 100 degrees plus.
Being retired I don’t pay much attention to the clock…unless I have a doctor’s appointment….

We don't need another hour of heat in the afternoon in the summer but an hour of cooler air in the morning makes more sense hence one of the reasons we do not change is Arizona.

Yep. SC legislature voted to keep DST year round but congress did not approve it yet so we changed back. It's not big deal here except for a week of adjusting to it but I can see how extra heat could turn you against it.

If it wasn't so hard to pull the trailer there, I'd move to Hawaii where it's Daylight standard time all year round

I have came to conclusion, If we didn't have politicians, we wouldn't have Day Light Savings time. Seems they invented it to save the earth..

It still gets light/dark at the exact same time every day. If you don't like it, simply get up earlier! Personally, I kind of like the change.

Just wait... Next week we will be finding that they will demand Day Light Savings Time year-round, so the solar power grid will get additional hours of daylight to make more power!
