Dealership offering lifetime warranty on new purchase

Sounds too good to be true. They say the only catch is you must bring your rv in for annual service through them or other dealer and provide proof. Has anyone had any experience with these? Looking at Dixie RV.

Yep that's what they do on heating and cooling replacements also. Any time line on how long they can keep your rig?

I know the Ford dealership I bought my truck from has a free lifetime power train warranty. Just need to keep the maintenance up. It’s one reason I bought from them. Two bad more RV dealers don’t do that provided you don’t get pushed to the back of the waiting for service line.

as has been said, there is no free lunch. If you can buy without it ask and that is how much they have folded into the price.

Doing your own maintenance, etc. may void the warranty.

and as always, if it is not in writing then you have noting.

The big catch is always the annual inspection at the dealer for $100s of dollars, then when something does break oh thats not covered. Read the find print, just like extended warranties, they are in business to make money not give it away.

As mentioned, read the fine print - the last one I took the time to read said only "major appliances" are covered - boiled down to the ac, stove, fridge. period. Add up 5 years of "annual inspection" at $100 + and you've paid for most new units already.

These... They aren't in the business of losing money. You are paying insurance on a repair. Your monthly bill covers your premium... as does every other customer there. You are paying a higher price (either through required inspections, required annual services or simply a higher sales price) for that insurance.

Either that or parts are covered, but you pay for installation of parts.

Most of the things that fail are due to improper care and use anyways, or so they will argue.
Broken cabinet was "abused" and not covered.
Leaking roof wasn't properly sealed and inspected and not covered.
Appliance "showed corrosion" and not covered.

I would ask for the fine print and determine your required financial investment to maintain this "warranty". Sadly, I think you are being mislead.

Even if it was on the up and up how long before the dealership when broke? I know of places that have done this then closed up and reopened under a new name with 0 liability.

If you have never owned an RV you might go for that!Others mentioned Factory can not force any dealer to do warranty!

Funny you mentioned that there is a shop in Sun City Arizona. Opens for 6 months, closes and reopens!

I do not want lifetime anything that ties me to RV manufacturers and dealers. The sooner I feel totally free to repair and rebuild their junk and not have the first thought to contact them for "help," the better. I celebrate the expiration of their so-called "warranties."

What do they consider lifetime?

1: Yours?
2: When something breaks or dies, that was it's lifetime?
3: As long as the salesman works there?
4: Until we sell to Camping World?

Please pick the winner!!!!

As Norty1 pointed out, you don't have to use a warranty. I have deliberately done things to void warranties when it was necessary to make whatever it was useful for me. There also have been times I didn't bother to replace things that failed under warranty because I no longer needed it, it would cost to much to ship back, and/or it was just not worth the effort.

I have this warranty thru Dixie RV.If you don't want it just don't take it back for the warranty before your 1 year is up,it will be canceled. You do not have to sign anything for it.It does cost you 200.00 to get everything checked out but it covers all major appliances and air conditioners.

We hadve a lifetime warranty from our dealership in Fort Worth. They only offer it on Jayco products and the higher end motorhomes. We purchased a 7 year warranty up front but still get our yearly inspection done at a neighborhood RV shop for about $100. It would be over $300 at the dealership. Our extended, 7 year warranty on our 2015 Jayco Eagle Premier has been very good, covering the majority of the $5000 bill we have had for two major repairs on our Schwintek kitchen slideout. So, haven't had any claims on the lifetime warranty yet but we noticed the lifetime warranty is backed by the same company from whom we purchased the 7 year extended warranty.

VOGT - Warranty Forever

I am currently using one of these "Warranty Forever" programs through VOGT yet I live 200 miles away so for the first year went with the same shop that handles the yearly inspection. I think it cost me $300.00 which was basically just their labor fees. They did add a little sealant to the roof, no idea if it truly needed it but the warranty forever program accepted their inspection. This particular program/company seems to be legit but is it worth the extra cash I have to pay? Maybe, guess it just depends on what your prefence is. If it wasn't for the wife's loving nudges I would probably just let is lapse and take my chances. Maybe it isn't a bad idea to have preventative maintenance performed by a professional company. Maybe there has been other folks who can tell me their thoughts or experiences with either of these companies:

OVEROGAL: Just saw your post right before I added mine - same VOGT?
