Dewinterized two weeks ago on the way to Florida. Unfortunately, I had to winterized again on the way back because the weather just isn't cooperating. 6 more weeks before Memorial Day and I will do it all over again.

I'll de-winterize after I find out how long the recovery is from rotator cuff surgery. Can't camp if I need to be at the office for therapy so I'm not going to do the trailer work unless I can use it. This might be the year it doesn't get used much.

De-winterized this weekend. Finally found the leak that had been eluding me for a few years. the gravity fill nozzle to fresh water tank hose was leaking and dripping water under the sink every time I filled the water tank. a new outside fitting and more care with the hose clamp should solve this issue.
Sanitized freshwater system as well, 1 cup bleach to 15 gal water, ran water through all the pipes, then flushed 4 hrs later.

BTW, I don't use the pink stuff, I just used compressed air and blow all the lines dry.

Heading out for college graduation in two weeks.

Don't forget to sanitize your fresh water tank and hot water heater as well! Then you have to drain and refill a couple of times to get the chlorine out. This is where all the work comes in. Just doing the water line is easy. Completely filling and draining the freshwater tank and water heater uses (wastes) a lot of water and take time on a big camper with big holding tanks.

We prepped our X23B last Sunday during a gorgeous 70°F day. I cleaned off the roof, gave it a bath, and opened all the windows to air it out. Last fall I drained the hot water heater, blew out the lines with my compressor and added antifreeze to the traps. This strategy, the first time I tried it, appeared to work ok since filing the tank with bleach water to sanitize it resulted in no leaks. I'm going to drain the bleach water after this post and flush with fresh. It's going down near freezing tonight, but only for a few hours so I think the pipes will survive.

We are heading out to Silver Lake State Park this weekend. The lows, again, will be near freezing but we'll be running the furnace so I'm hoping we don't have any problems. It makes me wonder if we can insulate the pipes at all.

In any case, we're happy to get the season started.

Paul

Ya got that right! I spent an entire evening dealing with sanitizing my lines and tanks. 82 gallon FW tank! It was time well spent though, now I know it's all clean!

I"m so jealous of you that have. I have not had time. Kitty and I are parents, again, of a soon-to-be teenager. She keeps us soooooo busy for old folks like us. I do plan to get the rig ready this weekend for a soon to happen trip, I hope.

I did mine today. What a pain in the @#$! getting the plastic plug back in the water tank.

I also must say, I am not hip on one cup of bleach directions. I like 4 cups, then after flushing and sitting for 30 minutes, flush with a gallon of white vinegar in the holding tank to deactivate the bleach, and sweeten the tank.

When I bought the RV, I don't think the dealer sanitized the tank. The water was always nasty in the lines, even when using city water. After this, everything from the holding tank, to the city hookup tastes like house water from the spigot.

De-winterized today. Even though we just bought our unit, I still did the whole bleach in tank process. No leaks! Temperatures just now above freezing at night, bring on spring time camping! After all the crops are planted first! Welcome to NE Ohio weather.

Probably the most important time to do it, never know what was left behind during the assembly process

I sanitize the plumbing system every spring after I de-winterize my TT.
