Do you have a lug wrench in your TV that fits your TT?

Just asking....

I went a full season before it crossed my mind.....and it crossed my mind as I passed some poor soul and his family standing off high on the shoulder with a flat tired TT. I don't know about you, but my Jayco didn't come with a lug wrench. Turns out I would have been unprepared....

And if you have road side assistance - don't count them to be fully prepared either....they may not have the right walled socket and tear up your nice aluminum rims.

on my 184bh....the lug nuts are the same size at the hex shaped piece on my stabilizer jacks. So the tool they supplied to extend my jacks could theoretically be used to loosen/tighten lug nuts.

I went to Harbor Freight and bought an inexpensive 1/2 "drive socket, 6" extension, & a breaker bar for the tool box in the tt, not to leave ever. Larry

And do you have a jack or other means of raising a wheel to change a defective tire?
Is your spare really good enough to use and is it properly aired up?
About the lug nuts - were they put on by a poorly adjusted impact wrench? Can you remove them with your lug wrench?

I keep a Trailer Aid with the trailer and a breaker bar with the correct socket for the lug nuts.

The guy you saw standing there looking at his trailer probably doesn't know how to change a tire otherwise he'd be on his knees!!

But to answer your question I keep my 4 way lug wrench in the TT. My TV has a nice scissor jack that it came with from the factory and will work nicely on the trailer. Wheel chocks are in the trailer. If I need blocking there is firewood. If I'm on soft earth I can use one of my Lego leveling blocks to keep the jack from sinking in the soil. Use your head, improvise, adapt, and overcome!!

I bought a 4 way lug wrench from??? that folds down when not in a cross pattern. Easy to store. I've never had a flat yet but if and when I do, I have the lego blocks and have a bottle jack that came with my TV to use. I was going to get a trailer aid but did not want to have one more thing to stow in my TT.

Have a 4way X bar in all my vehicles. Some years ago, I owned an Astro Van and found out the hard way that the Tire guy who did my brakes replaced a cross threaded stud with a new one that had a different size lug nut. Unfortunately I didn't find this out until I had a flat a few months later. Yup, all chocked and jacked in place and the GM wrench wouldn't fit the new stud. Went straight to the store and bought a cross bar. Then headed over to the tire store and demanded them to fix the stud size.

I have a 24" breaker bar, 6" extension, and 3/4" socket , all Snap-On, that live in the 5er basement permanently. Also have a Trailer-Aid and 3 ton bottle jack. Although I use air wrenches in my job, I never use them on the 5er studs. 24" breaker puts plenty of torque on the lugs.

When I purchased our trailer and started reading manuals they stressed the importance of torqueing the nuts after so many miles and again after that. I did buy a torque wrench at a good price and check them before most trips. Probably overkill since we don't torque our tv at regular intervals. Often wonder if the trailer shops torque them or just hit them with the impacts which I'd be afraid of over torqueing them.

I always carry a 4 way lug wrench and boards. I also think the truck jack and boards will be enough to get a tire changed.

4 way wrench, bottle jack, and torque wrench. The 4 way wrench and bottle jack stay in the camper all of the time.

4-way lug wrench in the front pass through storage along with enough of the Lynx Levelers to pick the side of the trailer up. Now, on my stock trailer and my utility trailer I don't. Guess I really should move the lug wrench to the truck and stick one in the Suburban so I would be covered no matter which trailer I have behind me.
