Does the Thank You button work?
I have sent several thank yous but I have never received one myself.
Has anyone received one from me or someone else?
Just checking to see if it works. I, myself, have not received one so I was curious whether or not I am wasting my time or not?
I have been on forums where they actually publish the number of thank yous you have received and the number you have sent on each and every post\thread.

It works, and if you get one you will be notified via automated PM. I am sending you one for your post as an example.

I don't get a notification, but if you click on "userCP" at the top left. It takes you to "your" information and shows who has thanked you and given any comments.

See last line of instruction.
----------------------------------------------------
What is the Thanks Button?
If you like a post or have a positive comment to make to the poster, you can click on the thanks button displaying on that post. A comment box will pop up and you can enter text or opt to leave it blank.
The member receiving the thanks can view it via their user cp, just under the list of subscribed threads. The comments will be displayed as well as the date, name of person leaving the comment and a link to the post referenced in the comment.
Only the most recent comments are displayed. There are no prizes, swag or any other kind of forum favors that can be traded for thanks. It's just for fun and to help cut down on the number of one liner posts. This is another way to show approval.
If you don't want to receive the PM notice associated with a Thank You, you can disable that option in your user cp (edit options).

I had to click the arrow on the right side of the blue bar across the top which has "new subscribed threads" title. This brought up latest infractions received and latest thanks received.
No other notifications, PM or otherwise. You must go into Options to activate this feature. It is not set as a default.
Crude, but that explains why most never see them or know they got them.

The Forum Admin and Announcements section of the forum is a good quick read.
It may answer many questions that you have.
The section I posted came right out of that thread.

I would suggest a revision with my notes in that section and a change in the default settings.

Yes you can enable it under 'edit options" in your user CP. Here is what it looks like on mine, I cannot remember ever enabling that and thought it was default but perhaps not.
Show the Number of Thanks Received
Your current number of thanks is displayed to other users whenever you post a message. If you would like to hide your thanks, disable this option.
You currently have 103 thanks.

Sorry if one felt it was a complaint. I was just making an observation and sharing my experience.
To everyone else that sent me a "thanks", it is appreciated. You know who you are. You were not being ignored, just was unable to locate them.
Here is an example of how it is done on another forum I participate on.
